About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Friendly and knowledge staff. The reception team always greet people with their first names - which gives a real personal touch to the whole experience. The gym/pool staff are knowledgable and considerate will adapt sessions as required, giving all members the best work out options to suit them. The class instructors are great at selecting the right music for the type of exercise bieng undertaken. Love it.”

“It's a great centre, with friendly staff, and nice instructors, and clean facilities. Timetable sometimes a bit erratic due to working around school needs. My only complaints are parking is sometimes difficult and I don't like the mixed changing village and would much prefer male and female changing rooms. This is provided for in the equality act and is perfectly lawful - if you look at the stats on sexual assaults, they all take place in mixed sex changing rooms. Given the changing rooms are mixed sex, I do not like the big gap at the bottom and top of the doors, you wouldn't even need to stand on tiptoe to push a phone camera over the top or botton of the partition and as young girls use these facilities I think privacy, dignity and safety could be better. Same applies to the ladies loos in the changing village, not private enough and I avoid using them. Girls in particular need to be encouraged to play sport, it'd help with more private single sex changing rooms.”

“Fantastic staff brilliant place to go keeps your mind active I call it my happy place my husband and I go 5 days a week it's helping us with our illnesses I can't praise it enough and also you meet some lovely people”
