About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“The centre is very good... the HALO App is a totally different thing. Difficult to log into, doesnt match to my card, awkward to book sessions, and the website sends me strange emails with code instead of vontent.”

“The booking system ensures that the swimming pool is not too crowded. Changing area and showers are clean. Waiting area is pretty basic.”

We take your comment about expanding the available swimming times seriously. With the increased footfall and growing number of people in Ledbury, we constantly strive to improve and cater to our customers' needs. “The staff are very helpful and friendly however the centre itself is in need of a very deep clean. The cleaner who cleans the foyer area tries her best but too much work for one person and the areas used for exercise classes have really dirty floor areas. The weights are well past their best and the floor mats are grubby. The pool area is not very clean either. There are numerous times where there are no locks on shower doors and changing room doors which is not acceptable as they are used by both sexes.”

“Repairs in changing rooms and toilets take about a year to be sorted. Due to expansion of houses in Ledbury the chance of getting into Pilates or Aquafit is a nightmare. Holidays & sickness of instructors in these classes have no replacements and since I pay yearly there is no financial refunds.”

We truly appreciate it! 🌟 regarding the shower door, we understand the frustration and agree it has been way too long but great news we have the door here on site, now waiting for our technical team to fit it. This time of year is always tricky regarding employees' annual leave, we have to use it or lose it before the end of the year staff are rightly so booking time off. Not all our staff are qualified to cover every class so at times we do have to cancel sessions. We do our very best to minimise this. Your annual membership isn't just a group exercise membership so unfortunately halo won't offer any discounts as your membership includes public swimming and the gym as an alternative to group exercise classes. Thank you for your comments and we appreciate your comments on the staff being nice. Obviously we are disappointed with the 1 star review as we are in a listed building and have had investment in the gym which is now spread over 3 rooms with new uptodate equipment and we have also had a conversion of a squash court for a soft play area. We are also having new spinning bikes this September If you could let us know what facilities are lacking and also what facilities you like that would be great. Kind regards Maesteg Staffing Team
