About Elite Models Online:

With more than 30 years experience in the model retail business having opened our first store in 1988, we aim to supply you with the greatest variety of models at extremely competitive prices. The team at Model World UK strive to provide excellent customer service - we don't just sell models we all have a love for what we do, and we also take part competitively in our hobbies, be it flying helicopters, quads, aeroplanes or racing cars and buggies. We love our jobs - who wouldn't enjoy working with these big boys toys all day everyday!

In the spring of 2013 we moved from our site at Maidstone to our new purpose built store in Sittingbourne where we have been able to grow and expand our offerings to you in a bright and welcoming store. And, in 2019 we nearly doubled the actual shop floor space to bring you even more products and also to allow us to launch the Sittingbourne Lego Store.

Very slow delivery and poor customer care and information

Web site did not indicate that stock was low on the item. I was not told, either by phone or email, that order could not be fulfilled due to low stock. After several days, I called to be told the ordered could not be completed. I accepted a reduced order and a prorata refund. I still had to pay full postage. I had to buy remaining items from another supplier. I needed these items quickly. If the website had been accurate, I would not have placed the order. If I had been told immediately that stock was low, I could have looked elsewhere. Very disappointing.

No stock despite website showing stock. Over a week to despatch diff housing.even though I got charged 5.99 for postage. I would avoid in the future

Ordered a cowl and the wrong cowl was dumped on my door step,phoned Elite models and my actual cowl is at customs,ivenchased this up to be told I've to send the wrong cowl back and was told" they will sort out something with postage cost incurred" how much is this cowl costing me in extra time and money with no guarantee of getting the cowl paid for! Bad customer service in my opinion and wont should here again.

An expensive model, very disappointed to discover that one of the visible components was found to be damaged. Obvious that this company does not care to give a quality check prior to delivery.

Hi Derek, We are very surprised to receive this review from yourself, as when you received your model and reported the small issue with one of the turrets, we were more than happy to help and offered to resolve the issue by the way of a completely free replacement upon receiving your turret, but after some thought you decided you would prefer to resolve this yourself using your modelling skills, thanked us for our help and confirmed that you consider the matter closed. Once again we can only apologise for the turret of your model arriving slightly bent, unfortunately with a model of this nature with so many small details and fragile parts (and considering how far they have travelled from factory to us, then from us to you), however well they are packed there is always a chance something may get damaged, but as you will know if this is the case we will do everything we can to try and resolve the issue. Please feel free to get in contact with us if you would like to discuss this further, as on top of the super fast delivery time we provided for your order, which you also commented on saying how impressed you were, we strive to, and feel like we have provided a customer service worthy of more than a 2-star review.

The order was slow in arriving and I had to contact them to get a reason for it only to be told they we're waiting for it to come from a third party not a very good service.

Item ordered not in stock, had to chase up with email to ask about dispatch. Maybe website should not say in stock, I would have bought from elsewhere. Will not be using again !!!

As you are asking the service was great, first rate but I ordered a spinner and was charged £5 for delivery, that is extortionate!

Good track but disappointed with the Annie and clarabelle. We couldn’t attach them to Thomas without falling off the track. It’s very basic without anything else to make it look more like a proper train set and the price was very steep.

Ordered some balsa and plywood which arrived separately and the 4mm ordered from stock was not 4mm but 4.7-5mm.

I ordered a Hornby limited edition clan line model which unfortunately arrived damaged. While Elite Models Online were very polite, they didn’t offer a refund or replacement and instead just told me to contact Hornby who were of no help at all. So now I’m stuck with a model I paid full price for that I pretty much have to repair myself. If this is typical of the model train hobby then I shan’t be buying anything again.

I placed my order for two items totalling over £200. Both items showed in stock. I paid for the shopping. A few days later I contacted them as nothing had arrived. One of the items was on back order so they were going to wait 3 weeks for it to come into stock and send the whole order in one go. I asked for them to send what they had immediately. They did this, but wanted me to pay shipping again for the last part of the order. I cancelled the second item.
