About Crazy Color:

Crazy Color® was launched in 1977 in the midst of the punk rock explosion in Britain. In a time that anarchy and free expression ruled supreme, one hairstylist was growing tired of the same natural color palette. Renato Brunas was at the height of his hairdressing career and was set to push the boundaries of color even further when he developed a new range of rainbow shades. Thus Crazy Color® was born and over 40 years later our ethos is the same, we want you to express yourself unapologetically. In every iconic pink bottle is a color that is ready to turn heads. “Mes cheveux sont devenus un mélange de mèches oranges, jaunes et vertes, au lieu de lilac et grapphite comme je l’attendais. Très décevant comme résultat de couleur. Mieux vaut prendre des couleurs flashy et non pastels!”

Salut, merci pour l'examen; nous apprécions vraiment cela. Pour le meilleur résultat en utilisant ces deux couleurs, nous vous recommandons d'éclaircir vos cheveux au niveau 9 ou 10 (blonde) avant l'application. Le résultat peut également ne pas être celui annoncé s'il restait des couleurs/tons dans les cheveux.

“7 days after ordering still waiting for product. Poor customer service”

Hi, thank you for the review; we really appreciate it. We are sorry to hear that you have had a longer than expected wait time for your order. This has been looked into and unfortunately, it has been lost in transit. However, a replacement order is now on its way to you. We can only apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

“I used the Violette Semi-Permanent Hair Dye and it wasn't at all the colour it said it was. Not only it was like almost 100% blue, but my hair turned out blue and green, and also grey. I have dyed my hair so many times with different vegan hair dyes and in different colours and I have never had this problem before. Also after deeply washing the colour off, one day after the dye on my hair keeps staining my skin. I would not recommend this product and obviously this specific colour. Really disappointing.”

For Violette, we do recommend lightening your hair to a level 9 or 10 (blonde) before application. The result may have also not been as advertised on our shade chart due to any remaining color in the hair.

“Colour was not as described. Made my hair dark blue and I wanted purple... Will have to wait for the colour to fade before I can correct it with another colour. Even more annoying as I know how hard it is to get blue out of hair!!”

We recommend to get rich violet hair lightening to a level 9 or 10 (blonde) before application. Violette does have cool blue undertones that may have become more prominent due to the color of the hair before application including, any other remaining colors existing. If you have any questions on how best to remove or quicken the fading of the blue please feel free to contact our customer service team.

“Bought crazy color “violette” expecting it to be the same purple as shown on the bottle and promotion images. I noticed that the cloth I was using to wipe up any spills was turning an inky blue and sure enough when it came time to wash out the dye I was horrified to find that my hair had also turned blue. After looking online it seems this is a common issue. Don’t know how you can get away with advertising this colour as purple. Totally ruined my day, had to go and buy a different brand to fix it but stuck with this colour until it comes.”

“I used the dyes “violette” and “peppermint”. Both were awful. The peppermint shade washed right out even though it was left on the longest. “Violette” turned my hair electric blue. Not satisfied at all.”

Our hair color with the correct aftercare should last up to 8-12 washes. Some of our recommended aftercare tips are to not wash your hair for 48hrs after dying. Use a good shampoo and conditioner when you do that's kind to color. However, there is more information available on our website. The shade Violette does have blue undertones and we also recommend lightening to level 9 or 10 (blonde) before applying.

“Awful products. Pink shampoo did not lather, fair enough it smells nice and has left my hair soft but it hurt my head with how much I had to scrub to try and lather this product. This is the first time I've washed my pink hair after spending £98 to get it done. This shampoo did not do anything other than ruin the colour and make it run more. I would have been better using a non coloured shampoo as it would have probably kept the colour better. As for the anti bleed spray - did nothing!? Waste of money, my hair has completely leaked. I've had coloured hair for years and these are by far the worst products I have ever used. Absolutely gutted after my hair dresser recommended them. And for the price I expected better quality!! Rip off for an awful product unfortunately. Gutted isn't the word.”

Hi Gee, thank you for the review; we really appreciate it. We are sorry that you have had a negative experience using our products. Our Pink Shampoo does not lather like some others due to it being salt and sulfate-free. The Anti Bleed Spray should be applied immediately after hair color is rinsed out of the hair. Then spray evenly over freshly rinsed hair, leave for 1 minute and rinse out of the hair. Information on how to apply each of our products is available on the website.

“Would love to write a review of your product but I didn't receive it. Hermes claim to have delivered it at 16:39 on 2nd June but I was sitting in my study at the front of my house that at that time and no delivery van drew up outside. Also, my video doorbell showed that no-one approached my front door between13:59 and 17:13 that day so goodness knows who received my parcel. Have reported this to Hermes but have heard nothing back from themas to what happened. Altogether, very, very disappointing.”

“The uv dyes do not put colour in very well compared with the normal dyes as the colour is very light and pretty much completely washed out straight away”

To achieve optimal results, we do recommend that you lift your hair to level 9 or 10 (blonde) before using our UV hair dyes. With the correct aftercare, color should last up to 8-12 washes the same as our other semi-permanent hair dyes.

“I have used crazy colour for years and never had an issue but recently I have noticed that the texture of the dye has become more runny and no longer wants to stick to hair and the colour doesn’t last as long. I’m disappointed and really gutted because it’s has always been my go to for vibrant colours and was always easy to use”

“I placed an order for two bottles of Orange dye, and a week later a package containing one singular bottle arrived, and it was in a terrible state. The bottle was dirty, scuffed and looked in no way new. The colour itself was nice and very easy to apply but the delivery (and missing item even though I paid for two) will prevent me from purchasing again.”

“Colour was not as advertised and took to blonde hair badly”

Hi Jennifer, thank you for the review; we really appreciate it! We are sorry that you have had a negative experience using our product. This may be due to the level of your hair as we recommend 9 or 10 (blonde) before use. However it is also suitable for level 8 (light brown) hair, but the results will only be tonal. An example of what that looks like is available on our website with a digital shade chart on the product page.

“I order purple dye and pigment. Both bottles on arrival said purple. My hair had already been professionally dyed purple and I’d been topping it up successfully with high street products for over two months. This dye came out electric blue, not a hint of purple. I emailed your company some weeks ago. To date, no response. I took your products to my highly qualified and experienced hairdresser, who has been dyeing my hair for some 15 years with no trouble, last week, and in her opinion, the dye looked more blue than purple, and certainly the result was definitely blue. Zero marks for customer service, and if I’m generous, two for the quality of the product, as even with pigment, it washed out faster than the cheap stuff from Superdrug.”

“Used two bottles for it to wash straight out my hair before I even got to see results!”

To prevent the color from washing out of your hair we recommend not washing your hair for 48hrs after dying. Use a good shampoo and conditioner when you do that's kind to color (such as our own) and only wash hair a max of two times a week and always in cold water.

“I don't know what I'm expected to write here? I'm still waiting for the delivery of my order. Its been over a month now. Its taken so long I'd actually forgotten about it!!”

“Lovely initial colour (Hot purple) however very quickly faded to blue. Even with professional bleaching twice, the colour has still not come out. For something that is supposed to be ‘semi permanent’ it is very misleading to the customer when you’re left with blue/green hair, and more expense trying to fix it! Would not recommend this colour to anyone as left with bad results! Contacted customer services and asked why this has happened and was told this is how the colour is made up, if they expect this to happen, surely there should be a warning to customers who have no training in hairdressing, and just looking for a bit of a temporary switch up! ( Photo AFTER bleaching and recolouring!!)”

“The delivery was okay but the colour was awful. It faded out after 1 wash and it didn't take to my roots. My hair looks awful and I will never use it again.”

All of our hair colors with the correct aftercare should last up to 8-12 washes. There are unfortunately many reasons that could cause hair dye not to take to your roots.
