Having bought from OO a few times i can say that your products are great when you got what i`m looking for, your prices are sometimes ok and on this occasion the delivery overall was annoying and worrying. I was out at work for a long full day when your system informs me that the delivery failed cause i was not at home to spite a large notice on my front door stating where a package could be deposited which was my neighbour`s house, i knew she would be at home as i`d already taken the trouble to ring her to make sure delivery would be ok for her to accept. Not at all impressed, very stressful for me and totally unnecessary, all down to human incompetence.

Thanks for the review. I can see Fedex updated the tracking to say no-one was in to accept the delivery at the original address. The driver then took the order and delivered it to your neighbour at number 14.

quick delivery -- but must do better on price!

Thanks for the review and for your custom! So far as I can see, the price you paid for the items is one of the most competitive in the market. We also have a price beater form on our website for any items found cheaper elsewhere. If there are any particular products where you think we're out on price, please let us know and we'll take a look.

The product is really good and seems to be high quality. Reason for lower score is that the wrong product was dispatched to me (I ordered a wiring loom and received brake shoes!), you did immediately send out the correct part however Fedex delayed their delivery so I lost a further two days to complete the urgent job. I will use Opie Oils again.

Thanks for the review. We do apologise for the mixup with your order. Although rare, mistakes can happen. I can also only apologise on behalf of Fedex for the delay in getting it to you.

Quick delivery, but poorly packaged and, subsequently, very dented. It's a tin of paint though, so not too important.

Thanks for the review. I can see your order was dispatched on the same day it was placed and delivered the next day.

Always usually a prompt delivery, but on this occasion your courier Fed ex failed to deliver next day. I think that in this instance the near 7 pounds delivery charge was not acceptable.

Thanks for the review. We do apologise for the delay in dispatch, unfortunately due to staff holidays over the Christmas period your order left a day later than the estimate. I can however see it arrived within the given delivery estimate when the order was placed. Once again we apologise for any inconvenience.

There's a need to keep a watchful eye on the manufacturing date on oil bottles - I received a bottle that was made over 3 years ago which is pushing the viability of the product. Other than that, fantastic and rapid service from Opie Oils as per usual. The website is also pretty good.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Thank yu for pointing out the manufacturer date. There are certain engine oils with a specific additive package that need to be put in the engine within 3 years of production. They are fairly new oils to meet new specifications and are not that common. They are basically the low-speed pre-ignition oils needed for some of the small turbo engines. They have a different detergent package from regular oils. Some manufacturers will say the products will say five years, but that is not because the oil has expired, it is because the requirements for the specifications are likely to have changed in that time (ACEA update their specification requirements every couple of years or so, etc). Realistically, most oil products will be absolutely fine for at least ten years (if unopened and stored properly), but you might need to give the oil a good shake as the additives can settle out after a long time.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, is there anything more we can do to get two more stars?

Thanks for the review. We do apologise for the delay. Unfortunately we were mid changing couriers at the time of ordering and had some teething issues. I can confirm these have now been fixed and orders are being delivered on time.

Normally quite happy with Opie. My last order not so much. I paid the premium for a guaranteed Wednesday delivery which was accepted. Waited in all day BUT no delivery - day wasted. The following day I was not to be in, as I had a prior arrangement. Dissatisfied and put out!

Thanks for the review. We do apologise for the delay with DX, their service was not up to our standard so we have decided to change couriers.

Good range of oils but could parts range could be improved. Delivery let down by courier, a day late on both deliveries, not directly Opie’s fault but other couriers are available. Pretty good at helping if you phone them.

Unhappy with communication regarding my order whereby I was notified by email that part of the order (quantity of engine oil) was not in stock and I was asked to respond about either selecting an alternative or cancelling the order. Like a lot of people, I don't have 24hr access to email and by the time I had read and responded to the email, the order had been despatched with no additional info as to whether it was complete or not.

Thanks for the review. We do apologise for the issue with your order. Unfortunately an item on your order could not be found upon dispatch. As soon as we were aware, the estimated lead time for the product to come in was sent via email. We also offered to look into an alternative for you, or alternatively cancel the order if you required it sooner. Due to the sheer number of enquires we are unable to call every customer. I can see fortunately our delivery came in the very next day and your order left us within the original dispatch estimate. Again, we do apologise for any inconvenience.

Hello,I have received my order of 1gallon of Castrol GP50 it arrived quickly but unfortunately the box had been dropped and the can has been badly dented, not leaking so it's still ok,I ordered a similar can of GP 50 a year ago and the same thing happened to that one,all the bubble wrap had been placed around the sides of the can and none under the base, just a shame I love to keep the cans. Jim Fairs. Hello Chris thanks for quick response I would like to take your offer of a Motul can my Castrol delivery arrived with air pocket packaging around the sides of the can perhaps some of that shredded cardboard would help if the box was roughly handled from the look of the box it had been dropped on the bottom corner.Jim Fairs.

Had a problem with DX took 3 attempts. Arrived with oil contamination on the outer box, surprised that it was not in a sealed polythene bag as previously supplied. Seepage was from insecure cap.

Thanks for the review. We do apologise for the damage to your order. Unfortunately it appears the courier has not stacked your order upright which in turn means some has come out of the cap. Would it please be possible to let us know how much has been lost?

Item recieved undamaged but that appeared to be more by luck than judgement. The cardboard "box" that the oil container was delivered in was so battered it looked like it had been used as a rugby ball in an all blacks ruck. Square or sealed it was not. Luckily the oil was still contained and the battering hadnt caused the container to split.

All ok but the oil selected through the on site finder was a 10W40 when (after I found the handbook) the manufacturer recommends 15W40

Thanks for the review. We list a 10w-40, rather than 15w-40, for your car as it offers better protection. 10w-40 flows quicker when cold, so offers faster cold start protection than a 15w-40. They are both SAE 40 when hot, so the 10w-40 is only thinner when cold. Also, most 10w-40s tend to be semi-synthetic and 15w-40 is generally mineral oil, so better all round protection with the 10w-40, as well as the oil lasting longer. Oils have moved on a lot since that handbook was printed and you're better off with something that is a bit more up to date.

Unfortunately package was delivered late. I appreciate not Opie fault but still part of the experience.

My most recent order was not very well packed or packaged which is unusual for Opie. The order process and delivery timescale was good. Opie use UPS which is not the best hence why I always use the drop off location
