I always try to use Wilkinson Cameras because they are a small NW chain with a branch local to me but, more importantly, I have always had excellent service both in shop and online. Good prices too and a broad range of equipment. Recommended.

Found what I wanted very quickly ordered it on Sunday and it was delivered by Wednesday. Well pack keep informed with the tracker very pleased with my purchase, but haven’t used it yet.

Appaling ordering process, I ordered a camera with the Buy now pay later, could see if i liked the compact mirroless before i sold one of my SLR bodies. Anyway, applied, set the delivery and billing address, all approved and sent over to Wilkinson cameras, I later recieve a phone call from the company explaining that its against the terms of the finance for the item to be delivered to a seperate address from the billing (Actually my work addresss, safer to deliver there as it will get recieved rather than leaving on the doorstep) I asked where this was stated and the colleague said its in the small print of the contract i signed. So i said i'll cancel the order and go elsewhere, so they cancelled it and that was that. I then searched through all the terms and paperwork and contacted the finance company about the delivery address and they said no isses with delivery to a safe place/seperate address from the billing, so i rang them back and they said its just company policy. Still wanting the camera i offered to pay a different way and was told with the hassle if i asked for ordinary delivery they'd send it out next day, that didn't happen either. When i finally recieved the item, it was described as having a case, charger, and 128GB Memory card. The 128gb card and Case where missing, i emailed and asked about the accessories and was told they don't usually ship the listed accesories?! But on this occasion agreed to ship them free of charge. The camera itself seems fine, however after a day in Edinburugh this week have noticed the sensor has a load of marks across the top of the sensor. Surely when they have items for sale they would check a critical thing like that? Its been a long process to purchase this camera, and seemed i had to jump through hoops of fire to get them to take my money.

Good morning, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I’m sorry to hear that you felt the process was frustrating, although I would like to clarify a few points for accuracy. When an order is placed using finance through Novuna Personal Finance, the billing and delivery addresses must match. This requirement is stated in several places on our website, including our Terms & Conditions, Finance Information page, and Delivery Information page. This is a restriction placed on us as the retailer as part of our finance agreement with Novuna, and is in place to protect all parties from potential fraud. For reference, Novuna also confirm this requirement within their own FAQs under “Can I request delivery to an address other than my home?”: https://www.novunapersonalfinance.co.uk/retail-finance/faqs/#application After the finance order was cancelled at your request, a new order was placed later that day at 14:25 on 23rd February. Our system shows that the order was confirm and a label prepared for dispatch within 13 minutes (14:38). Unfortunately the camera was located in one of our retail stores rather than our main warehouse. Due to both the location and the fact that pre-owned items are double checked before dispatch, the chance to complete the same-day dispatch was missed. The parcel was therefore taken to a DPD collection point first thing the following morning and delivered to you the next working day, which can also be seen on the tracking information. We were not made aware by the store that this had been the case and this will be looked into further - we acknowledge we could have emailed you to let you know, had we been made aware ourselves. Regarding the accessories, the listing incorrectly mentioned a case and memory card which are not normally supplied with this particular pre-owned item (and the MicroSD card listed was not really suitable for the camera). Once this was brought to our attention we arranged suitable replacements within two working hours of being notified and then sent them to you on a priority service. Finally, we have not received any emails regarding marks on the sensor. Have you emailed or called the customer service team about this? All of our pre-owned cameras are fully inspected and tested before being listed and again before dispatch, which includes checking the sensor. As with any interchangeable-lens camera, it is possible for dust to reach the sensor during normal use when lenses are changed. However, if you are concerned about marks appearing in images, please contact us directly and we will be happy to advise further. Exceptional service. Chose to purchase my new camera from Wilkinson Cameras because of their online reviews and their flexible finance options. I had an initial issue with placing my order owing to my internet going down, this was sorted over the phone within minutes by a helpful member of staff. My camera was dispatched swiftly and arrived in excellent condition. Perfect.

Pretty terrible. Ordered an item, got sent that and a secondhand camera. Wife read an email (1st email) that asked for camera back incorrectly posted, but added to the end that would be filing a crime report and getting the police involved?? We were like WOW, best way to inspire a customer to never return and tell everyone else never to go to your company.

In 2016 I gave up a 20 year teaching career to become a professional photographer, specialising in weddings. Its therefore about time, I paid homage to what I genuinely not only believe to be amongst the best camera shop on the planet, because of their values. IMHO, they do not attempt to sell you anything, they just serve you with honest integrity, and on more than a few occasions have pointed out a much cheaper option, or suggested an alternative always having my best interests at heart. This is why I would give 10 stars out of five if I could. Throughout this period I have gone into five of the stores, but mainly visit the Kendal store in person, followed by Carlisle. The main constants throughout this period has been the two branch managers, Nick and Joe, ably assisted by Kieron and Cameron. Yes, I could order online and even perhaps save myself a fraction of money, but what’s the point when you get the best advice, attention to detail and the first class service. You cannot put a price on that. That stated when I do compare prices, more often than not, you can’t buy cheaper anyway. What you are doing however is supporting a regional powerhouse in the photography world, and north-west photographers should be grateful that Wilkinson‘s exist. Keep doing what you are doing Wilkinsons, and delivering excellence as standard - David Rucker.
