“The children loved the workshop! They were all engaged. The children enjoyed it when they had to make different noises, that they would hear in the poem. They were also exposed to new vocabulary, which was fantastic. We had a great day, thank you.”

“The children loved the workshop, it was very engaging and there were lots of chances for the children to join in. However, I do think it would've been nice for the person leading it to be dressed up and have some props so the children could really immerse themselves in the topic.”

“The kids thoroughly enjoyed it, they had a great time dancing and expressing the story with their bodies. The teacher (Lucy) was also very good. She had great behaviour management, she had all the children engaged and used appropriate expressions and examples while they were doing their choreography which helped them to understand the moves better (e.g dip your foot in the paint, shake off the puddle water). It would benefit the children if there were slides of the story as Lucy was telling it so that the children had some visual clues to go off and hence understand and retain the story better. The dance moves were at the children's level and stretched them as well. It was a lovely, fun workshop.”

“Given the short amount of time the teacher had with each group, the children gained so much from the sessions. The narrative of Rama and Sita was included whilst giving the children the opportunity to perform as well. The only thing that would have improved it would have been to have more time with each group, and possibly some props to make the experience more kinaesthetic.”

“All children enjoyed our Diwali dance workshop and was differentiated well between the year groups. Our teacher helped the children keep focus and was very engaging. It would have been nice to have seen some traditional costumes that could of been worn or shown by our teacher.”

“Here is feedback given by our staff at Martongate: Our children in EYFS thoroughly enjoyed it and we have had some good feedback from parents too! The lady who ran the workshop had a good manner with the children, enthused them to join in and made them feel like they could all do it. She taught the dance in short, sharp bursts and included repetitiveness which helped our children remember the routines. The Autumn term workshops is definitely something I’d be interested in doing with my class. Year 3 – I thought the workshop was fab, well organised, at the right level and allowed all children to achieve. I would definitely be interested in doing the Christmas workshops! Year 4 - I thought they were absolutely fantastic!!!! Really good with the kids! The only slight criticism is I would love it if the workshops were longer!!!!! Year 5 - The instructor did a fantastic job with the time they had and the book choices were perfect too as all of the children were really familiar with them. Year 6 – Our children loved the workshops and responded well to the instructor – even if they are now ‘too cool for school!’”

“The Bringing Books To Life workshop was fantastic. The LKS2 children absolutely loved it, and it brought together both Dance and Reading really well. They not only enjoyed themselves, they learned about both the story, and developed a range of movement skills. There is possibly better value enrichment out there but the quality is not in any doubt.”
