“The workshop was enjoyable and engaging for the children. The focus of the story was really clear and allowed the children to understand what was happening throughout the dance. The expectations of the children were clear and they had the chance to practise before performing. It was great to see them engage in a different type of activity than what we provide at school.”

“As always the sessions were well-planned and age-appropriate for each class. The children were interested and engaged throughout. It would though, be even better if the children had more direction and immersion into the drama side, so rather than simply thinking of something to act out or freeze frame, they had been led through some drama based tasks with the leader.”

“It was a lovely activity to part take in, however the behaviour management needed to be better. The children were getting a little bored and their behaviour started to slip. This meant the session wasn't as benefical for the children as I'm sure was intended.”

“We had this workshop run for all of our classes from Y6 all the way down to Reception. The children were engaged and enthusiastic during their activities and the facilitator was well prepared and fun. While all children enjoyed the activity it was particularly well suited to Y2 and above.”

“We were very fortunate to be welcoming Ben, from West End in Schools, back for the second time this year as part of our activities around World Book Day. Ben was fantastic in the workshops, engaging all the children in the stories, dance and drama and really bringing the stories to life! The organisation and communication prior to the visit was excellent, with all information shared and great contact between the company and the school. I was especially impressed with the interest the company showed in making the workshops as inclusive as possible to support children with a range of needs. “We have used West End in Schools several times, to deliver dance workshops in school and the teachers and children have always been really happy with the sessions. The staff always come to tell me what a fantastic session they've had and how much the children have enjoyed it. Our most recent session was to celebrate World Book Day and focused on Roald Dahl's 'The Enormous Crocodile'. One teacher came to see me and said: "Their sessions are always brilliant, but this one was particularly good, the kids have had an amazing time".”
