“We had not had a workshop with West End in Schools before so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. The performer turned up early and she was able to set up in the hall ahead of the arrival of pupils. The pupils of St Christopher's Academy had a fantastic time yesterday during their workshops. There was lots of drama, freeze frames, thinking about what a character would be thinking at that moment and having fun. The pupils were engaged the whole way through with a buzz about their book. This workshop really did bring the books to life. Thank you.”

“We had our bring books to life workshops as part of our world book day activities which were thoroughly enjoyed by children and staff! The level of engagement from the children was fantastic. The whole school took part and the books were suitable for the different age ranges. A big thank you to Darrah who was enthusiastic and knowledge (as well as an excellent dancer). Thank you for a brilliant day.”

“As usual, another high quality workshop-Thank you. Lee was superb, so enthusiastic across both days and exceptionally knowledgeable about the texts that we had chosen-The Rainbow Fish and Billionaire Boy. It was wonderful to see every child in the entire school, join in and have so much fun-We have a few children who do not find it easy to take part in lessons but every single child joined in with Lee's session and this was such a breakthrough for them! The content of the workshop was age appropriate, inspiring and enabled the children to have a range of experiences that would not normally be possible as part of their school day. Texts were brought to life and all staff felt that they had some really high quality ideas to expand upon for World Book Day and beyond. Staff all commented upon how the workshops provided, gave them excellent CPD opportunities which they could use and adapt in lessons in the future. Moreover, Lee was also very helpful in suggesting ideas and how to further develop sections of the curriculum which staff were most appreciative of. It is great to always be able to speak with/mail staff about our initial enquiries so easily and for the entire organisation, payment of the day etc to be dealt with so effortlessly. We are all so pleased that we have discovered West End In Schools, such a high quality resource for our small rural primary school and one which is always so well received by staff, parents and most importantly the children. As you can see from our picture, from the word go, every child is immediately involved and has fun-This was a warm up activity 1 minute into the session! Thank you.”

“The 'Our World, Our Future' workshop was fantastic. It was amazing how much Lee could fit into one day and his enthusiasm and knowledge about the subject was excellent. The students loved the experience and they had a lot of fun performing in front of the parents and the rest of the school. I would highly recommend West End in Schools for any drama workshops.”

“Thank you so much for coming in to our school! The children loved every minute of the workshop from start to finish. I couldn't believe the dance they created in just 30 minutes. All credit to Lizzie for her enthusiasm and skills as she brought the dance to life for the children. Highly recommended!”

“The children enjoyed the freeze frames with the different characters they were familiar with. While the workshop gave teachers an idea of how to use drama to aid understanding of the text and characters, it was generally felt that the workshop did not offer anything we couldn't do ourselves.”

“All children from the school participated in the workshops from foundation stage to year 6. Each workshop was differentiated to meet the children's ages. The children not only learnt about the Chinese New Year but also enjoyed the active workshop that ran alongside it. This is the second time we have engaged West End in Schools and hoping to continue this throughout the year.”

“We recently had two performances of Cinderella at our school. The children of all ages (4 to 11) loved it! The humour was just right for the age group and I would highly recommend West End in Schools pantomimes to all schools, particularly those unable to access a theatre production locally. The two actors made everything easy for the school. One of our staff works in theatre, and tends to give a critical eye to schools theatre productions - she was extremely complimentary! Thank you very much.”
