“Very pleased with results of my Cataract surgery. Well looked after through every stage of the process and its amazing to not need glasses after almost 40 years of wearing them all the time.”

“Had both cataracts done 6 weeks ago. Back from Opticians for check up 20/20 vision just need reading glasses. Service from the team at Edinburgh was second to none No issues at all and driving 3 days later.”

“From start to finish I have no complaints about Vision scotland. at the pre treatment everything was explained to me and even speaking with the consultant by video call he explained all I needed to know and put me very much at ease. The clinic at Ratho Edinburgh was very nice and the receptionist showed me to a seat and offered coffee and biscuits. The procedure was painless and the consultant always speaking keeping me calm. I got plenty of after care medication and over the following six weeks had no problems whatsover. I have since had my eyes tested and my long vision is perfect and for reading I have reading prescription glasses. As I wanted to continue wearing glasses my optician has prescribed varifocal lenses and I am very happy man. The one thing I can say since my cataract operation is the colours that I can see now are so much brighter. Since my procedure I have recommended a friend who has had his operation and is completely satisfied. Regards Gordon Short”

“Absolutely fantastic! Both eyes done with Extra depth of focus lenses. 1st class service throughout. Referred by optician on 13/9; consultation with Vision Scotland on 16/9; and procedure carried out on 30/9. As I write this review on 5/10, I can see perfectly. Can't thank Mr Ken Lai and the whole VS team enough. Yes, I was scared but I needn't have been. No pain whatsoever.”

“Professional but relaxing atmosphere. Plenty of time for discussion. Impressive facilities. Superb attention from John the optician and Mr Foulds the surgeon. Painless and very successful. Delighted!”

“I had my cataracts removed within two weeks of my optician referral. From start to finish the process was seamless. The scanning and eye examination was very thorough and both optometrist Neil and Mr Jonathan Foulds the surgeon talked me through all the lens options. I changed my mind after speaking to a friend with similar eye problems and Neil was very patient in going over all the options again. On the day of my surgery I was struck by how kind everyone was. I use crutches and my husband has sight issues so the self service coffee area might have defeated us. But there was always a staff member popping over to make me a latte and bring it to me with a few biscuits. I was very well looked after by Susan and John, plus the others whose names I didn’t catch. I particularly appreciated the post op tea and toasted tea cake brought to me by a lovely lady. Small touches that meant a lot. I can’t praise my surgeon Mr Foulds enough. He was very kind and patient when I quizzed him mid procedure about something. He happily explained what was happening. Not every surgeon does that. I can’t thank everyone enough. I am only two days on but already amazed at my distance vision. Getting reading sorted will take a bit longer till I can get new lreading glasses but I am delighted so far.”

“Simply excellent in every single capacity. Doctor Sanjay Mantray is quite simply technically immense and caring and compassion for my welfare was so evident, thank you. All aspects from first contact to post operation were superb. As for the team well , from front of house to every single person in the team I came into contact with were an absolute credit to Vision Scotland. World class thank you so much”

“My optician recommended me to see you as I needed cataract surgery because I was about to lose my driving licence. The team work I experienced was extremally good from start to finish, every stage was explained and literature given at all stages, I was given different options to suit my needs so it would fit into my requirements best. The cost seemed high but when Care home costs where taken into consideration (only 6 weeks) it was very viable. I am now enjoying very clear 3D vision and when driving I can look down at dashboard and back without glasses. Many thanks.”

“Absolutely faultless. I felt that every member of staff I met was invested in me, personally. The level of care was second to none. Everyone made sure I was comfortable and that all of my questions were answered fully. I was as relaxed as it is possible to be throughout the procedures. The outcome of my cataract operations has exceeded my expectations.”

“I had cataracts removed in both eyes in July ‘23 by Jonathan Ross in the Aberdeen facility! 14 months later my eyesight has deteriorated and on visiting my Optician, Fraser Optical who recommended Vision Scotland, initially, I was told that I now needed Laser treatment to remove new cataracts which have developed over my new lenses at a treatment cost of &1100, I sent an email to Aberdeen who said they would call me back at 12.30 which the never did, so I called them at 13.36 and they confirmed that I would need to pay £11.00 to have the Laser treatment done! At no time during my initial consultation or on their brochure does it say tha I might need further treatment! Needless to say I am absolutely furious with the thought I having to dig into my sparse savings to have this done’ George Edwards”

“It is now six months since having the cataracts removed from both eyes. I would like to say a big thank you to Mr Stephen Burgess and the splendid team at Vision Scotland Edinburgh. On my visits they did everything to make feel relaxed, also explaining to me all that was happening, giving me the knowledge I was in good hands. Members of the team phoned me at home during the weeks following the procedures to see how I was getting on. I am very happy that I chose Vision Scotland as the result has been all I could ask for.”
