“I found myself in the fortunate position that I could choose where and when to have my Cataract surgery and because the NHS waiting list was 52 weeks I decided on Vision Scotland, mainly as I worried about deterioration of the eye condition causing damage. I would have had no issue having my surgery in the NHS if the waiting list had been shorter. The care and expertise I received at Vision Scotland was excellent all round. I found the journey home quite uncomfortable due to it being a very sunny day, perhaps more emphasis could be given regarding this. It seems the nursing staff all wear the same colour uniform so it wasn't easy to distinguish the RGN's and the unqualified.”

“Had both eyes fitted with Toric Monofocal IOL's 2 weeks ago and everything going very well. Vision very good for both distance and near and no discomfort. Procedure was carried out by Mr Mantry whom I would definitely recommend. Big thanks to him and his entire team at Vision Scotland. The whole experience from initial assessment to the actual surgery was exceptional. Further check up in two weeks which I am sure will have a positive outcome.”

“From referral to final check up, both my wife and I are very pleased with the end result. The care and quality of the service was both excellent and reassuring. Given that we live in the country, our eyesight is very important not least for driving. We both wish too commend the staff for their professionalism and courtesy. The removal of our cataracts enables us to enjoy the delights of the countryside and allows us the pleasures of visits to towns and cities. It was worth every 'penny" of the cost”

“I was quite apprehensive about having cataract surgery on both eyes, even though I was told there was no pain or discomfort and no need to feel claustrophobic, but your eyes are so important more than most other parts of you. Anyway, no need to have worried, no discomfort at all, wonderful results, I can now read certain things that I needed a magnifying glass for previously. The staff were exceptional in every way, every single one of them. Also, the price was so reasonable when you think what you are getting for it, your sight, the most important thing. Mr. Mehat my Surgeon was absolutely amazing and made me feel confident and relaxed from the beginning, I am so glad that I chose him and would recommend him to anyone he did an amazing job and I will forever be grateful to him, no words could convey how I appreciate what he has done for me. Thank you Mr. Mehat and thank you all at Vision Scotland.”

“Facilities, staff and treatment were of an exceptionally high standard. Initial contact staff were knowledgeable and informative. Initial consultation was at Aberdeen and tests carried out by thorough and professional staff. NHS were only to do one eye at a time but Mr Ross saw no reason not to do both at the same time and found me a slot at the Ratho clinic in Edinburgh soonest. This facility is easily found with plenty parking if you need it. Reception and lounge facilities for those waiting is excellent and I was dealt with on time. The whole team involved right from the start were friendly, knowledgeable and professional and during the actual process I didn’t feel a thing. Tea and biscs’ in the recovery lounge while I was ‘briefed’ on my aftercare(eye drops etc.) and I was on my way home in just under an hour.”

“I had contacted Vision Scotland on the recommendation of a friend. I had a consultation at the Edinburgh clinic as I had cataracts in both eyes, my left eye being worse than the right. I had intended to just have the left eye done but my consultant Jonathan Ross said that there is no reason why I shouldn’t have both done at the same time, so I decided to do this. All the staff very very kind and courteous at all times and the procedure for both eyes were done in 35 minutes. I was even offered a cup of tea and a toasted tea cake in the recovery room after the procedure which I duly accepted. The check out procedure was very thorough, explaining what to do and what not to do and also explaining about the different drops (4) I had to use daily. Everything is so bright and the colours are so bright as well. There is free parking at this venue. I cannot say enough about my experience which was excellent. Thank you Vision Scotland Edinburgh.”

“i had cataracts done in both eyes at the same time, with corrective lenses fitted. My vision is so good now and I no longer need glasses except for close up reading etc.. Staff at Ratho were excellent from initial consultation, through to the operation and aftercare. I would recommend this facility to anyone. Just a minor point - it is a good idea to have a pair of sunglasses handy for the journey home after the op since everything is so much brighter and the eye pupils remain dilated for a few hours afterwards. Thanks to everyone involved for their good work.”

“I had my cataracts done and lens replacement the service is absolutely wonderful the staff look after you really well , And the consultant Jonathan Ross is amazing and such a nice man makes you feel at ease. The whole experience was fantastic and I can now read without glasses and the colours of things are wonderful it’s like a whole new world!!!”

“I had an eye procedure at vision Scotland which I was worried about. Soon my worries disappeared when met by a team of lovely caring staff. Every single staff member I met was excellent. All kind. “First class service from start to finish. All staff were so friendly and professional and supported me through initial appointment to my cataract replacement procedure. Every step was clearly explained. I chose to have both eyes (cataracts) done at yhe same time. To have my vision Totally restored is absolutely amazing and life changing. I am ow seeing like a 10 year auld laddie...nae more specs for me. Many thanks to the team in Aberdeen.”
