The vets was brilliant. Sadly the rest off the experience wasn't. On the phone I was told if the vet was busy when we arrived, I nurse would see to us until they were available. We waited over an hour and during this time my pet gave me! Had we been seen to on arrival she could of made it. Understand they were busy but unfortunately that doesn't really help.

The vet didn’t inspire any confidence or show any empathy with either ourselves or our pet. Quite hostile when we refused to leave our cat with her insisting that she would die. All in all an expensive and not particularly pleasant experience although the vet did eventually give the painkiller and anti-emetic injections I repeatedly had to ask her for even though the cat was continually vomiting in the examination table.

Didnt give plasma transfusion as said they would told us had none in the building but found out 2 days later by a different vet when our dog was critical again that its always in stock so had to get a bag rushed over to my own vet to carry out the transfusion then said it was free as a goodwill gesture!! Not happy as should have been done!

Did their job but did not feel everything was explained clearly and did not feel they were very sympathetic.

When we were eventually seen by the vet she was very good. Although we were sat in the waiting room for over 45 minutes before our name was even taken by reception. That not acceptable.

The vets report sent to my regular vet was incorrect as he stated that the tumor my cat has was the size of a small nut. I was quite shocked when I read this as the tumor is the size of 10 nuts! My cat had a seizure so I had to visit the emergency vet a 2nd time. The site of the tumor was infected so an abx injection was given but the vet should have cleaned the area with anti bacterial solution as the cytology report later showed cocci bacteria and sepsis! Also the cost for these vets is outrages!

My JRT became blind all of a sudden over the Easter weekend. We were seen quickly and the reception staff and vet were really good with her and very reassuring. The issue I have is the cost. I expected to pay over the odds for the consultation being a bank holiday but the tests and medicine prescribed were extortionate! £119 for eye drops that would have cost £20 from my vet (£2.88 for the generic version) is incomprehensible!!!

Hi Anna, thanks for taking the time to leave us this review, I'm so glad we were there for your dog over Easter weekend, and I'm encouraged to see you felt we were reassuring and compassionate in our care. It's true that out-of-hours emergency veterinary treatment is expensive, which is why we fully advocate for comprehensive pet insurance for all responsible pet owners to cover for these circumstances. We've put together a handy article which explains where your fee goes, which we hope will be helpful in giving a bit more context to the cost: https://www.vets-now.com/2017/02/emergency-vet-visit/ Kind regards, Kirsty

Vet was First class but I felt that for an emergency service staff were very thon on the ground d eg. one vet nurse to attend to overnight stay animals. Not satisfactory especially in view of prices charged.

Hi Miss McCaulley, thanks for taking the time to leave this review. I'm sorry you feel this way. Often one vet and one nurse is all that is required to care for inpatients overnight. Our staff work exclusively out-of-hours so come in refreshed and ready for the night shift. Many times there are additional animal care assistants working with the team overnight as well. Please be assured all the pets in our care receive the highest possible level of care, reflective of our position as the UK's leading provider of emergency out-of-hours care. Kind regards - Kirsty

I would have been happy if I recieved a print out of what they did and what they administered. Would have helped when visiting my vets next day!

No problems with the service at all, but the cost is prohibitively expensive for many pet owners, and many would avoid using for this reason, resulting in poorly pets.

Hi there, I'm so glad you feel we provided you with an excellent level of service, it's what we strive for! It's true that emergeny out-of-hours treatment for pets is expensive - with no NHS for pets we always encourage responsible pet owners to take out the highest level of pet insurance possible to cover for these circumstances. We've put a post together on our website which helps give more clarity around how your fees are spent, so I hope this will be of some interest. Kind regards - Kirsty https://www.vets-now.com/2018/01/emergency-vet-costs-prices-fees/

Caring and knowledgeable. Clean and good facilities. Just a shame price is increased if you arrive after 11pm (there are horrendous roadworks on the motorway).
