True Traveller - Travel Insurance designed by Travellers

When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“I unfortunately started a policy with a different company that I then found out wasn’t valid. I was already travelling in Asia and had to find a new policy I could get while I was already travelling and fast. So glad I found True Traveller. Super flexible with lots of options and great communication. I haven’t had to claim so far so can’t comment on this aspect.”

“Really straightforward insurance supplier, and geared to backpackers with no extra hassle for not being in your country of residence when applying. Included a lot of activities that are popular with travellers as standard that you would normally pay a premium for with other providers- would recommend to anyone!”

“It is really easy to get True Traveller insurence. It took no more then 5 minutes and you can have all you need for your journeys. What I like the most about this insurance is the completeness of what is actualy insured. There is only few companies which offer also insurence for volunteering jobs and True Traveller is one of them, so big thumbs up for that too.”

“I'm fortunate enough to not have needed to claim with True Traveller quite yet, but the process of getting coverage has been so simple. The website is incredibly straight-forward and the pricing is great. I've been through a lot of competitors websites, as well as others for my partner based in the USA, and nothing compares. No complicated jargon to confuse you. As far as the user interface goes, you could easily consider them the Apple of the insurance world!”

“The service was simple and easy to use with explanations in all the right places and no stone is left unturned when ensuring everyone understands what they are adding to their package. Basic packages cover a wide range of activities with realistic pricing to suit those on a lower budget. I would recommend True Traveller to anyone regardless of their destination.”

“This is the second time I am using TrueTraveller insurance and they are amazing, the first time I had to go to hospital thinking one of my toes were broken and after putting up my claim they were super helpful and stress free. “I am only rating my booking experience which was 5 stars. Quick and easy with nice options. And surfing is included with the basic insurance option which I didn't expect. I think the price is fair. As for the insurance itself I can't know because I didn'thave to use it so far (and I hope I don't have to in the future) What I like is that its for all european citizens and that it takes you less then 5 minutes to get it. My reason for choosing true traveller: I was already in asia when my credit-card insurance expired after three months and most insurance companies don't give you the insurance when you are already travelling. Not with True traveller - you can just tick "Already travelling" and thats it. So for me reason enough and I am very confident that they are trustworthy. Would be cool if True Traveller could also allow ppl from outside europe to take the insurance.”

“Absolutely fantastic customer experience; flexible policies at good prices. Their staff really listen to what you need and any concerns you have about the level of cover you’d like etc. and are extremely helpful. They are also one of the only providers I’ve come across that will insure your trip even if it doesn’t start and end in the U.K. - really good for those who travel a lot and don’t always have an itinerary. Thoroughly recommend!”

“It's the second time I choose True Traveller as a travel insurance. I think it's very good and complete for those who travel one way, like digital nomads. Last time I had a health issue and they replied immediately to my questions. I didn't end up going to the hospital or the doctor so I didn't claim anything. I hope I don't need assistance this time either, but you'll never know: I think I'm in good hands.”
