When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“I'm really happy with this insurance! Easy to take out a new policy, easy to extend, transparent terms, easy to make a claim, good price. I made two claims during my first year of travel in South America, both of them were settled quickly.”

“When I was looking for an insurance while I'm travelling true traveller was really helpful and answered every question I had directly in the chat. The coverage is amazing. And it's a great bonus that you can adjust it so it suits you best and no need to pay for things you actually don't use or need.”

“I was really happy with True Traveller. The claims that i made last time were immediatly paid by them and you can talk to actual people who try to help you when you have questions. Also you have a lot of flexibility how to insure yourself over True traveller, and flexibility is something important for a true traveller :)”

“The True Traveller insurance is very easy to organize online, gives you lots of possibilities of coverage depending on your travel style. Moreover there is an option for extra cover for pre-existing medical conditions, thank you so much for that! It is also very easy to make a claim online, no need to send documents through post. Both my claims were settled without problems and within a week from making a claim.”

“Exceptional experience - From start to finish the process was extremely easy. Usually i would avoid doing it all online as you never find what you want in black and white, a phone call is always needed - Not this time! All of the possible options you may want are listed within tidy little packages and explained in detail. You don't need to panic or worry whether you have this covered or that covered as it really is all there laid out clearly, not hiding out of sight in the 'small print' like most others. I want to thank True Traveller for not only making the process easy and enjoyable but mainly for bringing the things we want to see most and making them clear, accessible and most importantly, affordable. My new home for travel insurance has been found, great work guys :)”

“I was having trouble finding travel insurance while I was already out of the country, but True Traveler came to the rescue! Their website is clear and easy to use, their rates are very reasonable, and I always had a helpful reply to my email within just a few hours. You could definitely find cheaper insurance from a comparison website, but for me it is worth paying that bit extra to have great service and real clarity about what you are covered for. Fingers crossed I won't need to make a claim, but if I do I suspect that the True Traveler team will be just as helpful as they have been so far!”

“I needed to buy insurance for one of my children who had travelled to India last week without adequate travel insurance. Having dealt with another company who let me down monstrously and were at best surly and at worst downright difficult I was recommended to True Traveller. What a fantastic experience. Took no time at all, the representative was friendly helpful explained everything carefully partially completed the application form and then sent it to me by email. This is how an insurance company should behave, I recommend them to anybody and will sing from the rooftops how good they were. As they say in other fields forget the rest these are the best.”

“Since becoming digital nomads at the end of 2017, my husband and I have used True Traveller as our travel insurance. It is the best option for us because we can buy insurance if we are already travelling and also the fact that they have services like live chat mean that you can easily get in contact with them from anywhere in the world. It is also the cheapest option we have found that provided us with extensive coverage worldwide. In 2018 I was unfortunate enough to have to get some emergency dental treatment done that was quite costly. I wasn't even sure whether my claim would be approved and also I was worried that I had submitted it late (just within the allowed period). I live chatted with someone from True Traveller when I needed the treatment to find out what would be covered and they were really helpful,explaining what I could claim for and in one instance even suggesting where I could go for reasonably priced treatment. I submitted my claim via a very easy to use claim forn and then waited to see what would happen. I was surprised that within a week I was contacted by a person managing my claim and told that I would receive the maximum I was allowed for dental treatment. It was so fast, I was really impressed! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend True Traveller to other travellers and have already got some of my friends to sign up after I recommended them in a review on my blog!”

“The review is could be affected by further edits as I still didn't test TrueTraveller on the most important thing: processing a claim. Nevertheless I bought their insurance many times. As said, never needed them to act, luckily. But I can give 5 stars so far because of customer care, friendliness of staff, transparency and also price. I find the annual policy very cheap. At the end, what do you want from and insurance company is that they make you feel safe and protected and they care about you as a customer, and my experience so far made me feel this way.”

“The process to insure our trip with True Traveller was very straightforward and also one of the best deals we could find in a very busy market... also, my partner had to put in a claim as we had some issues when travelling, and the process to claim was also very easy going and the payout occurred in the shortest time imaginable after sending them all the necessary documentation! Big well done as this helped us continue our travels easily! Well done and we already re engaged True Traveller’s services for the next months of our trip!”
