When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“I can highly recommend truetraveller insurance. I am a full time traveler and I have been traveling for more then 3 years now. It was always important to me to have a good travel insurance and after doing lots of research I found the perfect match”truetraveler insurance”. I had an accident in Thailand before and they refunded the hospital costs really fast and they were really helpful and supportive. When I extended my insurance they even offered a 10% discount if you use them again. I can’t recommend them enough. Many thanks Xenia Jakobi”

“Have used them several times for year long trips abroad, they are easy to use, have reasonable rates for pre-existing medical conditions and a great range of sport add ons! I injured myself skiing badly and had a long recovery, they were easy to claim through and paid for the expensive things upfront, even covered me for a series of needed physio sessions. Overall a great choice for travel insurance!”

“Levels of cover suit me well, particularly for adventurous activities with worldwide cover for a long trip, and premium cost is very competitive. Online forms were easy to use. No idea how well they respond to a claim or in an emergency as I've not had any problems so far.”

“Simple and easy to use website! Great service and help was provided to answer all my questions and concerns via the online chat feature. Everything else on the website was simple and easy to understand, with the ability to toggle on/off various features for the different forms of cover and add-ons! Hopefully a claim won't be necessary on my trip, but the user experience has been great so far!”

“Used True Traveller mainly during a 3.5 year backpacking trip. The price was decent, they are one of few companies who will let you take out insurance when already out of the country. With insurance companies, the proof is in the puddıng when you actually need to make a claim as all companies are great when taking your Money but not so much when you need to make a claim. Luckily for me True Traveller were excellent and very easy to deal wıth when I had to claim back an Ambulance bill in Australia. I just had to fill a few forms and that was it. Put it this way, I have recently took out more insurance with True Traveller despite seeing another policy that was a little cheaper as I feel I can trust True Traveller if I was in need.”

“I have True Traveller Backapcker's insurance already for a year. During that year I have used the insurance few times. Luckily there were minor things. As the amount I spent was always under 500 GBP, I have to pay first and then claim it back. There is just one thing i don't understand and its very unclear for me. The claim website allows you to claim for a taxi, in case if required to get to the doctor, however they did not cover the taxi expenses. I contacted them regarding that no one was able to give me the reason why. The answer was just NO, we don't cover the taxi expenses from your place to the clinic. In general this is a great insurance for a person ALREADY travelling ( you don't need to be in the UK/Europe to buy it). I recommend you to buy an option with no excess fee ( extra 30 GBP). I just renewed the insurance for another year.”

“It’s the third time I am choosing True Traveller as my insurance company. I am a backpacker travelling the world, I used their service in some countries and the response has always been excellent. They have always paid me back and it is quite easy to make a claim (everything online).”

“True Traveller saved my adventure. I was in a pickle before I came across them. I'd set off on a trip to New Zealand via Australia and by the time I'd reached Australia, I knew I'd forgotten something.....travel insurance. With everything going on in the world at the moment, I was beginning to stress and not enjoy being abroad at all because of it. I was recommended True Traveller by a friend and after being given a very reasonable quote by them, very quickly too, I soon found that I had a secure travel insurance policy almost instantly. Which means I have the comfort of knowing I'm covered now no matter what this adventure will throw at me and I have the added security of knowing help is at hand when I need it. In a nutshell, would highly recommend.”

“The ONLY insurer I could find who'd cover me whilst abroad AND for pre existing medical condition...... things change when you're travelling and all of a sudden I found myself going to India unexpectedly for a month... but I was already out of the UK... absolutely no one would offer cover whilst travelling for a pre existing medical condition... Thank you to true traveller for offering this! You saved me!! Lol On top of this, thanks for employing happy human beings... how refreshing to have a real genuine interaction with your customer service staff not a robot regurgitating a script... a real person, with a sense of humour... the first time ever I've bought travel insurance and had a few laughs!! Hurray!! I'd definitely recommend... you guys are awesome! :)”

“Never had a problem with true traveller. The coverage makes travelling less stressful and they are very responsive when you reach out to them. Plus, they cover you when you are already travelling and on one way journeys which is a big bonus!”
