When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Although, I've used True Traveller already few times I have never had any claim so I cannot comment on that.... What I however can assure you is their great customer service and super easy purchase. On top of that I think the coverage and price is very reasonable....”

“I like True Travellers as they have good coverage options for outdoor activities such as rock climbing and ski touring. However, I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't receive anything on my claim when I had to cancel my flight tickets to go home because of covid19, as well no longer being covered for covid19 related claims as I had to renew my insurance as I'm staying in Canada longer than planned because of the virus.”

“I was lucky that I never had to claim anything; However, I did compare carefully different offers (conditions and prices) from various providers and True traveller beats them all easily. The plans are comprehensive for the essential and usual activities and extras aren't overpriced.”

“I have been on an IEC visa for the last 2 years and have recently extended my True Traveller policy. I felt very reassured having insurance cover with True Traveller due to; the reviews I had received from others; their extensive cover offered over a 2 year period; a reasonable cost when spread out over 2 years. I luckily only had to claim once for medical reasons and it is super easy to claim. I feel safe and supported having this insurance cover and they seem to cover all the necessary areas needed to fit the conditions of an IEC visa. I also thought it was great that they have a multi-trip policy and not just single trip as I travelled back and forth from my home country several times, and it was great to know I was covered for baggage (I paid for the add on) and travel each time.”

“TrueTraveller's website is simple, clear and they are nice and upfront about the realities of insurance, what they cover and don't cover, and the requirements of Canada's IEC visa. I like that they have lots of options for tailoring your cover to suit you, and explain the relative merit of the extraa depending on your plans for your trip. Their FAQs are comprehensive. On the one point I did have an outstanding question, the enquiries team responded within a couple of hours. Reassured I decided to go with TrueTraveller over the other options I had looked at. Although I haven't started traveling yet and haven't claimedfor anything, the whole process has left me confident that should I need to call on them, TrueTraveller will be there to help.”

“IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: I’ve never actually used the policies I have purchased for my trips (3). My review is purely based on the online purchase experience and the customer service. The latter helped me modify the area of coverage of my policy within few hours, and also reimbursed me the difference paid in a couple of days. I would recommend, at the moment.”

“We booked our insurance quite close to our leaving date and there were no complications. The price was very competitive to others in the market. Thankfully we haven’t had to make a claim yet however we can imagine the help and service offered will be great. We did have to add on some extras to the standard policy and insure our phones privately as they are more expensive than the payout amount but this was the only minor issue.”
