True Traveller - Travel Insurance designed by Travellers

When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“This is my second time booking with True Traveller and I am super happy with their service. I went on a 1-year long trip and had a few health issues here and there and all my claims have been paid back timely, the assistants on the phone were always very helpful and understanding and the website is just very intuitive! That's why I chose to purchase another cover, for this shorter trip.”

They consistently have the best deals for backpackers and their service is paperless. “Great insurance to use for any travelling needs. They have all the options laid out on a very easy platform to make up the package personal to your travelling needs. And they stick to there work. My brother had to make a large claim due to serious illness whilst travelling and true traveller helped him and my family the whole time. 10/10 would recommend”

“I have used true traveller for the past 5 years and where ever in the world I have been have felt safe in the knowledge that true traveller always had my back! Have only had to claim once which was when I was doing a six weeks course at Honolulu university in Hawaii! I started getting excruciating nerve pain in my face from a wisdom tooth which had started to move! Claiming back tooth extraction expenses was easy although they required all flight tickets and bills!Was refunded within a few days!Thank you True traveller!”

“I have, luckily, had no misadventures so far and therefore I haven't filed any insurance claim. Nevertheless, in comparison to other insurance companies that I have consulted before getting my True Traveller insurance, the process was very easy and straight forward.”

“Although I've fortunately never had to make a claim through True Traveller, I've used there insurance for about 3 years and always found the process of taking out insurance very easy. They are one of the few reputable insurers I could find that offer long term travel insurance, up to two years, which I used when living in Canada. It's also very easy to extend your policy if you are still traveling when it is close to expire. Would recommend.”

“Very good experience sorting my partner and I's insurance. We were able to contact them quickly over the phone and all the agents we spoke to were very helpful with our questions, even if questions did get into the specific wording of the policy document. Despite being the priciest we could find; they came across as the most trustworthy and active of all the other insurers we investigated.”

“I shopped around for a few weeks to find travel insurance but proved difficult as traveling with a one way ticket until I found True Traveller. Although, I’m from Ireland and couldn’t get through to their number on the website nor the over seas number using my house phone. However I requested a call back to my mobile on live chat and they kindly rang me within minutes. The staff member was brilliant on the phone and explained everything so well, went through all my options and also explained a few things that saved me a few pound on the policy. Excellent customer service and I feel I can trust them. Hopefully if I ever do need to make a claim I will have just as good an experience.”
