True Traveller - Travel Insurance designed by Travellers

When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“I was looking for insurance to cover me for 2 years whilst in Canada. I was already traveling at the time and True Traveller were a great option. I researched and found very positive reviews for their service and I was not disappointed. Their policies are reasonably priced and cover everything I needed. If I need too upgrade my policy to include other activities it is easy to do so, and when I come to extend my cover their process is straight forward. I would recommend True Traveller to anyone who is already outside of their home country and requires insurance.”

“A great travel insurance company. I have been using them for several years for all my trips. I have had to submit a few minor medical claims and they always covered all of them within a few days. I think that their premiums are very reasonable compared to similarly reputable insurance companies. Highly recommended”

“Exceptional experience - From start to finish the process was extremely easy. Usually i would avoid doing it all online as you never find what you want in black and white, a phone call is always needed - Not this time! All of the possible options you may want are listed within tidy little packages and explained in detail. You don't need to panic or worry whether you have this covered or that covered as it really is all there laid out clearly, not hiding out of sight in the 'small print' like most others. I want to thank True Traveller for not only making the process easy and enjoyable but mainly for bringing the things we want to see most and making them clear, accessible and most importantly, affordable. My new home for travel insurance has been found, great work guys :)”

“I used True Traveller last year when I went travelling for six months after living away from the UK for two years. The ease with which I could buy insurance while already out of the UK was amazing. The extras were clear and easy to add and the value for money compared to other sites I have found was unbeaten. I am using them again as I am now moving to Vietnam and need a long term insurance again that I can renew while outside the UK. Everything was as simple as I remember it and has provided me with all the coverage I could think of needing. Would recommend to anyone looking to travel and wanting better and easier coverage than most insurers.”

“True Traveller was easy to set up online and easy to renew. I had a couple of medical issues that I called customer service about. The service and advice on the phone was professional, fast and informative. On both occasions my situations got better before I could make it to a doctor, so I haven’t had to make a claim yet. I can’t speak for processing a claim, but if it’s as good as the customer service, then I’d be very pleased with this insurance all around!”

Everything else on the website was simple and easy to understand, with the ability to toggle on/off various features for the different forms of cover and add-ons! “I called Truetraveller to get a quote for the IEC Canada 2 year insurance. I also asked what is included in the winter sports package. I got all the answers I needed and bought my insurance online. I recommend them and it is easy to contact them for answers.”
