True Traveller - Travel Insurance designed by Travellers

When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Really straightforward insurance supplier, and geared to backpackers with no extra hassle for not being in your country of residence when applying. Included a lot of activities that are popular with travellers as standard that you would normally pay a premium for with other providers- would recommend to anyone!”

“True Traveller is the only travel insurance company i could find that would offer me better than decent cover, including winter sports, with fair excess, for a full two years AND allow me to travel home for as long as i need to within that time (a lot of other companies only allowed max. 21 days?!). Would highly recommend!”

“Great value for money and encompasses everything that you could possibly need on your travels! There are options to include any activity or eventuality that might arise while you are enjoying yourself abroad! It was very easy to contact True Traveller whenever I had any questions which was hugely beneficial. The team was extremely helpful and made the whole process of buying insurance very simple. Another benefit of using True Traveller is that you can buy it at any stage of your travels and allows you to be insured despite already starting your adventures. Would 100% recommend due to their simple format that make it very clear what is included and ensures that everything you could possibly want is covered.”

“I have used True Traveller for three separate trips across the world. What I love most about this company is how easy the website is to use. Never mind that they offer you coverage for basically every single activity on earth or the fact that even the standard insurance package will insure that you are safe in the case you need help. I will continue to use True Traveller for my travels as I truly believe they have the customers well being at heart.”

“I travel so often and also often forget to take out travel insurance before I leave home so I find True Traveller super helpful as you can be honest that you’re already overseas! I’ve only claimed once but they were very quick and responsive. Highly recommended.”

“Quick and easy to get a quote and purchase online. Offers a lot of benefits for people who are travelling for a long period of time, especially those who are backpacking. Hopefully I shouldn't need to make a claim!”

“If you are on either a short or longer trip Truetraveller is the way to go for insurance! Personally I like that how easy the applying process is and you can take it any time of the trip. We've had fortunately only minor health issues, but Truetraveller covered them also! I highly recommend Truetraveller insurance for your adventures!”

“I'm using true traveler insurance since 2017 to all my travels. "touch the wood" I had to make the claim only ones for my dentist appointment, but i was resolved very quickly and in 2 weeks I got the money back. they have lots of options for different trips and different travel style so everyone can find type it suits best.”

“Super convenient that it is possible to get covered once already abroad! Gives me a peace of mind while traveling and also offers a solid plan B for the times that I don't plan far enough in advance. “I've been using True Traveller for a few years now for many reasons. I can start and continue my cover whilst already abroad, their website is by far the easiest in the market to navigate and I've had a great experience with their support team. Also, compared to other similar companies I've found True Traveller to be more cost effective, without losing any important benefits. Great coverage, great price, great service!”
