True Traveller - Travel Insurance designed by Travellers

When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Amazing company, insured me at 17 years old to solo travel for 8 months. Paid all my claims within hours in full. Claims are very easy to make aswell and can just be done on an online form by submitting photos. I would 100% recommend these guys, and I will definetly be using them again.”

“I have used the company for three years for a yearly travel insurance as I travel a few times. I initially bought by phoning them for advice, since then I have renewed online . I have a few existing medical problems so I found it easy to declare. I have since recommended them to several older friends. I have only claimed from the insurance and that was in first year , I had 4 nights in hospital, the insurance dealt direct with hospital. The insurance were excellent but sadly hospital I felt were not big that’s no reflection on the traveller . So far so good , I just renewed for another year”

“I wanted travel insurance for my son who now lives in Spain. Most travel insurance purchased in Australia require your travel to start and finish in Australia, True Traveller did not require this. I had 2 questions I wanted confirmed in writing prior to purchase and asked on the Chat. I received an answer the next morning confirming my query and signed up confidently that my circumstances were covered. Great fast service and very friendly as well.”

“Just started my policy with True Traveller and had a very positive experience. On a Sunday, they answered back to me clarifying their policy wording. I accidentally spelled wrongly the end date of my trip and they quickly allowed me to amend the policy.”

“Excellent company to deal with and the policies are very reasonable in comparison to other companies and don't add huge premiums for health conditions that other companies do or won't even insure. I don't often write reviews but felt this company was worth it.”

“The service received was excellent, my only concern was delay in response to e-mails from Uk to Czech Republic. My case was reviewed and approved in a few days and funds received into my account on the day it was approved.”

“He tenido que utilizar el seguro en un par de ocasiones y nunca he tenido ningún problema, además esta última vez tuve que hacer una pequeña intervención y el seguro lo cubrió todo a los 2 días ya tenía el rembolso! Estoy muy contenta y de momento no puedo hacer otra cosa sino recomendarlo. Espero seguir así de contenta ya que he renovado el seguro por un año mas!!!”

“really good website to navigate, to get a quote etc even when the expedition I am going on is a little unusual. I called them directly and the phone (an actual person!) service was also great. Makes a change from a chat bot service! The price was also competitive. :-)”

“Easy to navigate and select the cover that best suits you. Simple process to add pre-existing conditions. Without a return flight and not knowing how long my trip would last True Traveller was the ideal solution, and I have already extended my cover to fit with travel plans The cover provided is comprehensive and extremely good value. It was only by chance I discovered that most travel insurance can be invalidated if you don’t have a return flight, and fortunately I came across True Traveller.”
