True Traveller - Travel Insurance designed by Travellers

When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“So far I have not had the need to use this insurance abroad. And so, my experience with true traveller reside in comparing it with other, more expensive, travel insurances and being succesfully helped by their chat agents in order to answer my doubts.”

“I have been with TT for about a year now, claimed 3x and Everytime it was super fast and smooth! The only unconvince for me was paying for the excess fee Every time I was extending my policy because I was extending and extending.. so better to do the whole year if there is even a slightlies Chance of staying abroad the whole time ;) otherwise I am a super happy customer!”

“I did tonnes of thorough research on travel insurance to meet the needs of my 2 year working holiday visa in Canada and honestly nothing comes close to this. Easily the most comprehensive coverage available for long stays, and other provider offering better prices has such small levels of coverage it'd be a nightmare if a claim was ever needed. Only reason they don't get 5 stars is I haven't had to claim yet, thankfully, but countless online reviews tell me this should be stress-free if I ever do have to!”

“The True Traveller insurance is very easy to organize online, gives you lots of possibilities of coverage depending on your travel style. Moreover there is an option for extra cover for pre-existing medical conditions, thank you so much for that! It is also very easy to make a claim online, no need to send documents through post. Both my claims were settled without problems and within a week from making a claim.”

“With True Traveller, is traveling more easy. I claimed some medical expenses during my travel and all expenses were reimbursed in few days. True Traveller has very high cover for everything. I can really recommend this travel insurence. I closed the deal again, for next year.. Hopefully, I will never more need theirs help, but I´m sure, that I have the best insurance, for unexpected situations.”

“Straightforward, simple and very quick to use. Very clear webpage, very easy to understand all the different options and whether you may need them. There are some small things that really make True Traveller stand out for me so far, such as unlimited visits home and the "already travelling" option, which make them the obvious choice when buying insurance to travel Canada. Price is on par with other providers but they go above and beyond in all other areas. I have had a quick, easy and pleasant experience on both occasions that I have bought insurance from them. Overall very happy!”

“My friend and I got cover for our Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal and are so happy we went with True Traveller. They made us feel like we were covered for all eventualities and followed up with super helpful information about altitude sickness symptoms and treatment. “I bought True Traveller policy for my 4 month trip to South East Asia & New Zealand, and even though I haven’t had to make any claim yet, so far True Traveller has been great. The website is straightforward and easy to use, and everything is explained in plain English so you are clear on what you are signing up for. For me the best part is how much flexibility with coverage you get from True Traveller and that you can completely waive the excess which I found was not always an option with competitor policies. Thanks and keep it up!”

“So far I have been impressed with the experience with True Traveller. The online team were helpful and the details of their policies were clear and simple which made choosing what I needed straightforward. This is good because a lot of the other companies I looked at were not super clear about exactly what they covered, particularly around activities / sports. I have not had a reason to claim on the policy yet so I can't comment on that. I did like the fact that you could tailor the policy quite easily to what you needed.”
