True Traveller - Travel Insurance designed by Travellers

When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“True Traveller has been very easy and straight forward. I got accepted on the International Experience Canada 2 year Visa (IEC) Great cost with great cover for my job as a personal trainer /S&C Coach and also playing Semi Pro Soccer over here I needed cover and TrueTraveller offered the best leaving me to feel very comfortable about my safety while away from the UK. Not only did I purchase 2 years I have decided to stay in Canada and as I apply for my permanent residency True Traveller makes it very easy to extend your policy with a 10% discount! Wow, thank you TrueTraveller - Highly recommend Leanne”

“Before the trip - The website is as clear as water. Everything from the cover costs to the covered activities is easily viable and one does not need to read the small letter. All the activities I considered doing are covered and the list is very exhaustive! The variety of customization on your insurance package is on point. Finally, the price is very reasonable, other climbing insurance were almost twice the cost. Will review again after my trip if I do need to make use of it.”

“My experience with true traveller has been nothing but exceptional this far, they're plans are not too pricey, have great coverage and are the perfect thing for an individual travelling across the globe. I had to make a claim in late 2018 for an injury which required me to go to hospital and undergo several scans which resulted in a sizeable hospital bill. This was the first time I've ever had to make a claim so I rang TrueTraveller to understand the process that I had to go through. The agent on the other end of the phone was calm and professional and was able to give me the information I needed to begin the claim. Once all the documents were sent I got responses from truetraveller telling me they had been received and the payment came back to me in a number of weeks. I would reccomend them to anyone wanting to travel safley without breaking the bank!”

“Excellent website, clear and accurate documents that are received by email directly upon purchasing the insurance. In terms of regions, the Europe insurance I frequently purchase has wide coverage and even includes countries outside of continental Europe. I haven’t needed to make a claim thus far but TrueTraveler is my go-to insurance agent for all my travels.”

“It was easy to compare and all important information was described transparent and clear. The price-service balance is very fair and a good offer with lots of options to choose from. Especially if you are planning to go for a longer trip I can highly recommend it: from Backpackers for Backpackers, the name is the program :)”

“First class service, funny thing: they have been recommended to me by another insurer who couldn't provide the service I needed (pretty complex situation with me travelling with my daughter who is not living in the same Country as me). Journey didn't happen yet, so of course I cannot comment on payment process, and hopefully I won't need it!”

“It is really easy to get True Traveller insurence. It took no more then 5 minutes and you can have all you need for your journeys. What I like the most about this insurance is the completeness of what is actualy insured. There is only few companies which offer also insurence for volunteering jobs and True Traveller is one of them, so big thumbs up for that too.”

“I found the True Traveler website very clear and readable, with important additional disclosures as to the risk I am taking trekking in Nepalese mountains and a description of local rescue practices. It helped make sense of the overall cost. I am part of the rare breed that reads a contract before entering into it ; I found the extensive TT contract very clear and the summary provided accurate. The insurers backing the TT offer are Allianz, a robust and reputable firm, so I trust that they will perform their duty should a need arise.”

“I was looking for my policy for a WHV in Australia and having used True Traveller before for my policy for a WHV in Canada I headed straight back to their site. Easy to use, self explanatory and made the whole process so simple. Also know that claiming is hassle free due to friends’ previous experiences! Definitely would recommend!”

“When we started travelling we used a different company for a while but after a few years they raised the prices a lot and so we decided to find another option. That’s when we discovered TrueTraveller Insurance and since then we have been using it for all our trips. We had to activate the insurance twice and everything went really fast and smooth. Highly recommend True Traveller to everyone that wants a great travel insurance with a really fair price!”

“Website was very clear and easy to read. Each of the add ons was well explained, with the list of exclusions very prominent so it was clear which would be appropriate to buy. Haven't been on my trip yet, but so far the experience has been great. I needed one way travel insurance, and this was the best option I found. The "travellers pack" covered all of the activities that I want to do, which is really helpful.”

“I had a great expereince booking my insurance with True Traveller. I had a good phone converstation with an agent who was able to answer my very specific questions. I have not yet had to make a claim so i cannot speak for that side of things but they do have very good customer service (and no long phone queues to speak to someone!)”
