“Had long delays with power of attorney being prepared but James contacted me to advise on progress. Hold ups caused by outside offices and not Town and Country and he has intervened to hurry completion for us. Attitude on phone very apologetic and concerned so hopefully waiting time will soon be over and problems resolved. Thanks to James for very quick response to delay concerns.”

“Advertise will for £47 but when the planner came to our house she rolled her eyes & said no will costs that unless you are a single person renting with nothing to leave, even then need to add VAT. She was patronising & said she's 'sick of explaining this'. My parent wanted to go ahead as true price, although considerably more, was still reasonable. Will needed several corrections to names,addresses and put grandson as a 'she'. No apology when reported the errors. Would advise to aviod, even if just for the lies about pricing”

“We contacted them in September 2021. Had consultation with Nick Munnings agreed what we wanted, wills, lpas and property trust. Had a few queries, he returned, we then received draft copies and still had some concerns. Nick failed to turn up to 2 appts so we contacted office in Feb 2020 and were told she would email him to make another appt. Haven't heard from then since and it is now 31st August 2020. Probably should not be surprised at that..what Company takes £1800 and doesn't help to iron out issues you have told them about. We have had 3 deaths in the past year due to terminal cancers, one quite recently, which is why we have not chased this up before. It has been a constant source of stress on top of an extremely stressful time. Anyway it looks as though we have nothing to show for our £1800 except a draw full of papers, feeling very let down and concerned as we were told recently that some of the paperwork may not infact do what we wanted which has left us more confused than ever with the way this company has acted with regard to us. Dates above should read 2022. UPDATE 01/09/2022. Was contacted this morning by James Scotney to discuss the concerns we have about the poor communication between us and his office. Have just spent a long time on the phone with him making things a little clearer and made a further appointment for Nick to return to help with a refresher on some of the paperwork. James was apologetic regarding the lack of communication, which is also down to us due to recent family bereavements, he explained alot and arranged a follow up which we hope will resolve the issues as we are happy with what we chose, Wills, Lpa's and Property Trust and he clarified that the Property Trust will meet our needs. Thank you James for your time, will be in touch.”

“We set up a couple of family probate trusts with TCL , we found the initial process very helpful having been explained what the trusts were all about etc. The actual setting up of the trusts was a bit of a prolonged process but that was mainly down to the land registry office , due to covid-19 and not TCL. Once completed we received our trust paperwork back and overall we were happy with the service we received from TCL. We were then contacted by TCL and notified about the requirement to register the trusts with HMRC. Initially we were left confused ? but after being contacted by the customer care manager Evonne, any issues or concerns we had were quickly sorted out,and TCL registered our trusts with HMRC in a quick efficient timely manner. Overall we found the process of setting up our trusts to be well handled with good customer services , and would be happy to recommend TCL to others.”

“Following my initial review I almost immediately received a telephone call from the MD - James Scotney. He fully updated us on the progress of our commission and it appears all was in order. Wills to be dispatched to us immediately. The Trust Documents still to be ratified by the Land Registry(this may take time as they have a large backlog) however as documents correctly signed and witnessed they were now live. Trust paperwork to follow in due course. The conversation with James has put our minds at rest and restored our faith in our decision to use this company. I have amended the star rating to five and would recommend the company to others. Roger Bishop”

“After a bit of a hiccup I was totally shocked and surprised with the care and consideration I was given, every effort by James Scotney to accommodate my needs in handling my paperwork for my will and p.o.a. After buttering me up trying very hard to please me, I am still waiting, a letter was supposed to be sent to sign and five weeks still no letter, I do not get any info on updates, not even a courtesy call. I can not say I would recommend this Law firm.”

“After a hic-up with documentation delays due to the COVID pandemic i have now received a personal apology and an explanation from James Scotney ( who was very professional and understanding) as to why the delay, which was understandable as most companies have gone through the same . This has new restored my faith back in this company and now happy that I made the right decision to choose them.”
