“We've had problems with SocialCat for a few years now. We tried them out originally when they launched and found that too many of the influencers were taking the product and not following through with making good content. I was very excited a year later to see that SocialCat had made improvements to their platform which allowed for rating of influencers so that if they didn't follow through with their end of the obligations, you could rate and report them appropriately. We decided to give them another shot and it ultimately ended up with disappointment yet again. $99 was paid for their plan which is supposed to match you with "up to 25 matches per month", and "200 prospects per month". The problem we ran into was that 90% of the prospects were completely unrelated to our niche. We are in the food niche, and they were matching us with accounts that promote lifestyle, fashion, etc and we ran out of 200 prospects so quickly that we weren't able to even use our account to try and find matches for more than half of our billing period. To make things worse, we only had 6 collaborations instead of the 25 we paid for, and they all found us through opportunities, making their prospecting system completely irrelevant. We dealt with Caitlin on multiple occasions when trying to find out what was going on and she was responsive, and friendly but had a certain tone she was using and we felt as though she was insinuating that our brand didn't meet the "top-calibre creators" that they offered. Rather than trying to keep us as a customer, we were dismissed. We paid them $99 for the monthly fee, expected to be able to find 25 matches, and ended up with 6. I can find 6 myself on Instagram, so we canceled. I would love the chance to try the service again in the future, but they have a lot of work to do on their platform before it's fair. You shouldn't be limited to how many prospects you can find if the only ones they're finding for you are irrelevant to your niche.”
