I think that influencers should be filtered a bit more to be categorized and be shown the "right fit" companies. I get many opportunities from children or teen girls that my product has nothing to do with. They however, count as an opportunity and this does not let my real influencer fits find me, since my opportunities are used up.

Hi Cris, Thanks so much for sharing the feedback & the review. We agree there is more work to be done on the matchmaking algorithm as we get more and more brands and influencers on the platform. This is a tricky balance to make, especially because we're working with 1.000+ brands and 10.000+ creators. However, for 2023, our top priority is product building which means better matches and more influencers. I'd love to be in touch with you via our newsletter, where we announce all of our product updates; please be patient in seeing progress here, as we're a small company with limited resources sometimes. If we can help more, please reach out to joe@thesocialcat.com anytime.

I have enjoyed using Social Cat to help source brand partnerships. However, there needs to be a better filtering system for partnerships that align with my niche. I create content for home decor and interior design. It is not relevant for me to partner with pet, beauty, fashion or health brands. However I receive 20 new brands to review daily from social cat - many of which are not relevant. It was taking too much time for me to review and decline all of these random brands until I eventually turned off the collaboration feature. A shame!

Hi Lauren, Thanks so much for sharing this feedback & review. We're sorry about not providing the relevant matches for you; we understand your frustration and agree there is more work to do in some aspects of our product. I'd love to keep in touch with you via our newsletter, where we provide tools & education for influencers to grow, but we also announce product updates to keep you up to date with what we work on. We hope we'll be in a better position in the future to help out; thanks again for the feedback!

I don’t think it’s fair that creators have to have 5 thousand to charge money for work. At the end of the day we do the same work as larger creators if not work harder and faster because we don’t have collabs rolling in on a daily bases. I think the app has potential to be the greatest one out there but the brands are all small brands that are starting up and I have been getting paid as a creator for 6 years working with brands like L’Oreal and dove that actually pay small creators for their work and time. Atleast 100 per video is the minimum a ugc creator should make. Free products we can get by leaving reviews or going on a survey website. These brands are asking too much for a free 20$ shirt I’m getting bored of it

Hi Jazmine, Thanks so much for sharing this feedback! We appreciate it; please see some of our thoughts below: 1. We're debating if the five 5-star reviews rule is something we should guide ourselves after, and we're looking for more feedback. We took this decision because it's pretty easy to do five collaborations on Social Cat, but it's still something we try to understand better. 2. Our target market is small brands, but we're looking to acquire more of the established brands which are also interested in paid work. 3. We're working on product updates that will set the expectations right for gifted collaborations. On our communication channels, we always inform brands what they can expect in return for a gifted collaboration, but this will be even better with these new updates. Please be patient in seeing all this slowly going live; we agree that our app has great potential, and we're working slowly to implement the above. If you have more feedback, we're happy to chat and even jump on a call!

The matches were effortless but the results were non existent. No follows. No clicks. No purchases.

Hi Connor, Thanks for the review and feedback! We looked over your account, and I see you've been with us only for the free trial period, which is seven days, and only had four collaborations. From our experience and perspective, finding the right influencers to generate conversions takes time. It also depends on other factors, like how well your website is optimized for conversions, campaign placement, etc. Brands on Social Cat that have success from a conversion perspective work with tens of influencers to find the right ones and then tend to work with them regularly. We're happy to jump on a call with one of our influencer marketing experts, that can advise you more on this and provide the right guidance! Chat soon, and thanks for the feedback!

Social Cat is enjoyable, however communication with brands is not always good.

Hi Hungry, Thanks for sharing this, we appreciate the honest review! We're working on a big Social Cat update, which should fix part of this problem for the creators. Please be advised that the communication is also influenced by the niche of where the brand and creator operate!

I’ve found Social Cat super easy to use and have had some amazing collabs- the only problem is I’ve matched with many however have been ghosted numerous times, and I dnt feel like that very professional.

Hi Nicola, Thanks so much for sharing this, and we're sorry to hear you got ghosted out by some of our brands/creators. We're working to understand why this happens and provide a better experience for our users. We know how frustrating it is to express interest in working with someone and then not get any replies. Please bear with us as we improve our product and experience! Cheers, Joe

The large majority of matches that I got were completely unrelated to my business category. I selected keywords relating to my business and most of my matches were still in other categories that were not relevant to me. Many of the members I was shown, are in follow and comment loops so their follower numbers are inflated and not accurate. I did have a handful of accounts that gave me great content and were nice to work with. It was definitely not worth the $179 for those few people though.

Hi Michelle, This is Jan from Social Cat; nice to meet you & thanks for the review. We agree there is more work to be done around the matchmaking system on our platform, and we take full responsibility for that. We do have more hands on deck now, and with this in mind, we should be able to build a bit faster. Please be patient in seeing this improve, as the algorithm behind the matchmaking system is quite complex, but rest assured, we take responsibility for improving our product based on feedback like this. Regarding the quality of the influencers, we do have a manual vetting process in place. When influencers sign up with us, we manually check their accounts. To be fully transparent, we do need to perform a manual check of our database to see what some of the influencers do after they sign up with us. Since we do have more than 10k creators on the platform, this takes a bit of time to go through them manually. Our team checks this, but to be transparent, we need to move faster. We're also happy to hear that you did find some creators that were able to satisfy your deliverables, and I am confident we will be able to improve and provide more of them. We would like to invite you in the future to try our product again (if you choose to cancel) and see the progress we make, free of charge. We're confident that all this experience will improve, as we're committed to building a product & business that serves small brands. Thanks again for taking the time to leave this review; we appreciate the negative feedback as well, and we will improve. Cheers, Jan

The concept is great, just can't seem to get influencers to post in a timely manner. 80% don't respond or post after over a month.

Hi Zachary, We're sorry to hear this, and thanks for the feedback; we appreciate it. Did you get a chance to use any of the tools we have to prevent this? Our Report function available in your account will block the specific accounts, and our customer success team will get in touch with you and the influencer to solve this. It is essential to Report the accounts so we can solve this issue for you. Otherwise, we won't be aware of it. Our team will get in touch with you right now to get on top of this.

Super cool idea Wish the website was organized better Instead of a list of absolutely everyone, collabs that are actually geared towards my niche When you accept or deny the collab, you need to go back out to the list, would be better if either the list gave a synopsis of the company and collab with the buttons or the next one automatically appears or there was a next button Appreciate new collab opportunities every day but the constant emails has my inbox full Products are fine

Hi Arielle, Thanks for sharing this feedback; the potential collaboration opportunities we send right now are geared toward your niche, but for example, if we do not have a lot of brands in that niche, the algorithm might suggest something a bit more outside of your niche. I think this might be the problem here. Also, we have a roadmap ahead with exciting new looks and features which are going to make the whole experience way smoother for you, as a Social Cat user (brand or creator) Please be patient in seeing these live as we are a small team here at Social Cat, but we grow fast and will start executing faster. We appreciate the feedback and shared it with our team in Slack. Cheers, Joe

my only complaint is that on the partnerships/brand dashboard, when reviewing possible brands, it would be nice to have the little "about/ info" available to read right there vs. having to open a new tab to view the brand before deciding if interested or not. it would streamline the process more.

Hi Hannah, Thanks for this feedback; I just shared it in Slack with our team. Please be patient as we implement new changes to our product, but I think this is a genius idea. We're fully aware that we need to do better in terms of the user experience and ease-of-use and we do have a roadmap for this, made mostly from feedback like yours. Cheers, Joe

We found the process of connecting with contributors was great and straight forward but the actual content that came back from it we don't feel would convert for us. Most of them would do a story upload of their box arriving and nothing more. Perhaps more ability to tick certain requirements off for what we would expect from them would be best. Overall our experience was good. Thanks!

Hi Natasha, Thanks for sharing your feedback with us; we appreciate it. We are happy to hear that the overall experience was great and you found it easy to match and work with influencers. In terms of the content provided, did you inform them about the deliverables they were supposed to meet? It is essential to let them know exactly what you are looking for in terms of campaign, placement, hashtags, and guidelines. Influencers you match with are already tailored to your needs, but they need that extra guidance to develop suitable campaigns for you. In 95% of the cases, we do see that brands provide precise campaign deliverables and guidance, and they obtain the exact type of campaign they are looking for. Our team will get in touch via email to discuss this more. Cheers, Joe

I really enjoy the platform. It is easy to use and helps keep track of the creators, especially when they grow in numbers. I have not seen any results from the creators yet and have found working with some of them to be difficult and they do not always deliver the agreed content. I plan on giving it a few more months before I discontinue using it as a marketing tool.

Hi Bonnie, Thanks for the feedback; we appreciate this. We're happy to hear that the Social Cat system is easy to use and saves you time. On the other hand, please make sure to report the creators that are not delivering the content that was agreed upon. Our report tool will pause their accounts, and a team member will get in touch with both to solve the situation. We're aware we still have work to do on the product side after you match with someone, so we're gathering feedback and data on how to improve it. Let's connect via joe@thesocialcat.com and discuss how we can improve our product. Cheers, Joe

I can see how it could be helpful for businesses just starting. But as a fashion brand looking to work with a specific kind of influencer it was pretty time-consuming to look through all the collaborations most of which were either mummy or home accounts. If you are a brand that wants to work with home-style accounts instead of fashion, I think it could be helpful.

Hi there, Appreciate the honest review; thanks a lot. Currently, we're working on acquiring a more diversified database of micro-influencers for brands. This takes a bit of time, especially because we reject so many accounts that are not respecting the rules to be accepted on Social Cat. We're also working on adding more filtering capabilities to be able to narrow down from specific niches. In this case, narrow down even more through the fashion niche. We appreciate your constructive feedback, and hopefully, we can be in a better position to help you soon. Thanks, Joe

Great concept, unfortunately, a lot of the influencers have low engagement rates.

Hey Katheline, Thanks a lot for this review; we appreciate it. We're trying to acquire more engaged influencers on Social Cat and impose more strict rules to be approved as a micro-influencer. The process takes a bit of time, but ultimately that is the goal: have engaged, micro-influencers ready to help brands with honest product reviews. Stay tuned!

Hi Team, The product is a great idea but your platform is a little difficult to track and you changed it in the middle of my subscription so I had to get used to another layout and set up half way through. I think you should have basically a spreadsheet style instead of a list where you can see all your different matches and potential matches in the different status'. The status' themselves could potentially do with some refinement and you need to be able to filter via the status' so you can work on a particular set of people, update them, check up on them etc. It is also worth noting that going through all the instagram accounts of the people I had matches with on one evening got me banned from instagram for a couple of days which was quite damaging so a drip feed would be better, or a warning maybe? Then you should propose templates of expectations for the influcers so we know what to ask of them and what is acceptable and what to expect, this was very tricky, wanting the most from people without wanting to offend them by asking too much just for free products. These templates or levels they could sign up to prior to contact so you know what you are getting both sides and it is more regulated. Thanks Sophie

Hi Sophie, Thanks so much for the constructive feedback, we took note of it and we will discuss this internally. I can see multiple ideas we could implement or add to our roadmap. I do like especially the one with the expectation template for influencers. At the same time, we do need to investigate the ban from Instagram. We're not sure entirely how is this related to us, to be honest, but we will have a look into it. Thanks again. The Social Cat Team
