The product & price were spot on however I emailed them to tell them the delivery driver damaged my property whilst delivering to me and no one even bothered to reply. Very disappointing. Otherwise I’d have reviewed 5 star

Hi Damian, Thank you for leaving the review, apologies you haven't received an email from us. We do have your email & photo from from 7th July, we forwarded this onto the haulier the same day who then in turn speaks to the delivery depot/driver for us. We're just waiting to hear back from Hastings Freight (I have actually chased this up for you today) and then we'll be in touch with yourself, I'll email you an acknowledgment to your email though for reference. Stones are fine and good value. Delivery was terrible with me having to pay a re-delivery charge for an issue which even the delivery driver said was not my fault.

Hi Mike, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us, I know you had problems with the delivery side of things. As mentioned on our calls I have sent the haulier (who'll forward it through to the delivery depot that services your postcode area) your feedback and mentioned about the SMS time estimates. Apologies again you weren't 100% happy with everything.

The order process was really easy and delivery was on time and the delivery driver was excellent, my 20 mm granite chippings were not graded properly and had a great deal of smaller grade in the mix, I appreciate it’s a natural product but if graded correctly it would be more consistent in terms of size of chippings, the last consignment (which I was topping up ) was perfect in the first instance

Apologies you received some smaller chippings that got through the 20mm grader wires, as everything is naturally quarried and then the bulk bags are robotically filled & weighed we can't guarantee every piece will be the same size. Hi there, we're sorry you're not 100% happy with your order. I have forwarded your email & photos to the quality control team for their feedback as all of the bulk bags are robotically filled & weighed so I'm not sure where the soil has come from, I know all of our products are naturally quarried so an element of product dust can still be on the stones but I've queried the soil in the Dove Grey bag. Products ordered were OK, but not as high quality as pictured. The 'polar' white chippings were chalky and dusty, but fine: the black basalt had obviously been wet when photographed. In the dry, it is very grey, so disappointing. Probably partly my error in thinking I'd get something shiny and black. More problematic was delivery, which failed to arrive on the stated day, then failed again the day after, until after a day and a half staying in, we had to leave the driver to (thankfully) deliver in our absence. So not a great story overall ...

Good morning Mark, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on your recent order, I am sorry you're not 100% happy with your order. We unfortunately don't have any washing facilities on site so all of our products as they're naturally quarried can arrive with quarry/product dust on them, it can be easily dispersed by hosing it down or just letting nature take it's course. With regards to the Black Basalt we do have a handful of photos showing it both dry & wet and the product description references it being black when wet and grey when dry, apologies you weren't completely happy with the bulk bag you received. I have forwarded your comments with regards to the delivery across to Hastings but I do know that Ben from Hastings Freight was dealing with the delay for you as he contacted us to say that the driver would arrive after you'd gone away but you were going to leave a note on where the safe place was, apologies your order wasn't able to be delivered on your estimated delivery date, the depots do try to adhere to the dates we request but any delays caused by traffic, breakdowns, drivers time etc is out of our control. Thank you for the product review & 4 stars Nasir, we do try and add as many photos we can from customer orders or what we have taken professionally to the website to show how the Cotswold can look dry/wet and with all of our products being naturally quarried there can be variations to the colour, size shape etc. We also do offer a product sample service where you can see the gravel to make sure you're happy with the appearance prior to placing a bulk bag order. The order was received on time and the quality of the stones was excellent. Unfortunately, this purchase was spoilt by the rudeness of the delivery driver.

The stones are exactley what i wanted and price and delivery great so why the 3 stars So much dust covering stones we have had to sieve them 2-3 wheel barrows of chalky dust per bulk bag?

Stone was OK but covered in mud,there was a lot of tiny pieces of shale mixed in and a lot of this at the bottom of the bags which got onto the garden when trying to empty the bags .it won't wash away and weeds get a hold in this mix of mud and tiny bits of slate,it also doesn't look good as it gets on the top of your stones because it's at the bottom of the bag

Had a full bulk bag delivered, I now need half the amount again but they wont sell me half bag or wont let me collect in my own flat bed so a poor service

Hi Matthew, Thanks for the feedback, sorry you feel this way. Due to H&S rules, we're not open to the general public on-site for any orders, only trade companies. We don't have the 80-120mm Scottish Cobbles available in a half bag, only the 850kg bulk bags are available. We're sorry we weren't able to help you further. Thanks, Jacqui

I might have received the wrong order for part of my order. It does not appear that I have received 80mm-100mm cobbles as requested, rather 2 x jumbo bags of 100mm-200mm cobbles.

Pebbles are OK. Delivery was a total pain - did not come on day scheduled. I was told when I called for the fourth time that the shipment had not arrived with them! Turned out it had but the bag had split!! Arrived 2 days late! In view of the bag having split I can understand all the plastic bits I had to pick out, I suppose; also a fair few stones - not pebbles. Acceptable, not great.

I found Stone and Garden great initially, the transaction via their website was easy and the stone arrived on time as per their communication. One thing that did confuse me was the cost of the stone that I found which went up by £6.00 when I checked my purchase out. I accepted this as they seemed (at the time) the cheapest company for the stone I wanted. However, the Stone arrived Friday, on Saturday I called their office which went to a mobile number as their phones were down! I asked to place the same order but the price online had gone up about 10% from three days before, the person on the phone would not honour the same price sighting an increase by their carrier and it would be the new price. I subsequently found a cheaper company (Gravel Master) that could deliver on the same date given and significantly cheaper than the original price i bought the same stone for. Hence the reason why I rate Stone and Garden as average.

Quick delivery good price Little disappointed as there seemed to be a lot if random coloured stones mix in the rubber chips else i would have given 5 stars.

Great customer service. However disappointed to learn delivery service required “solid ground” for a gravel driveway delivery. I can’t think of many places that put gravel on a solid ground. Although I am happy with the product delivered it was not as red as the picture on the website made out.

We greatly appreciate this feedback, as we use a manual pump truck to offload we require a good, solid, flat level surface - this is explained in our Terms and Conditions. The gravel we provide is a natural product so there will always be colour variations because it is not dyed. If there is anything we can do for you in the future just let us know. The stone is beautiful and looks great, however the delivery was very poor. Firstly the delivery arrived on he wrong day and so the area wasn’t prepared ready for the stone. Secondly the delivery driver expected my pregnant wife to move heavy blocks so the pallet could fit on my drive area. Thirdly the driver then failed to get the pallet on my drive and left it half on my drive and half on the pavement. I was at work and couldn’t more it until late. This could have left me paying a fine if a complaint was made by a neighbor. The driver was pleasant but not helpful and refused to do anything else other than leave the pallet as it is. Plus he actually damaged part of the pavement edge. Happy with product but not with delivery service!

Bit disappointed l ordered pebbles 30mm to 50mm and received ones more like 50mm to 70mm plus, the delivery driver had left before l realised otherwise l would have sent them back.

Had this been brought to our attention we would have arranged for the stones to be returned - regardless of whether the driver was still there or not. During the screening process sometimes larger stones can fall through due to the way they fall, this is explained in the terms and conditions you agreed to at checkout and within the product description. I was impressed with communication and delivery. Product was what I was looking for once the dust was washed off. BUT. I was surprised and disappointed to find 3-4 inches of paste/slurry in the bottom of the bag May be better if you washed your slate stock pile more thoroughly before bagging up.

The stones were fine the delivery was also good. I calculated that i should have had enough but was a bit short so contracted stone and garden to try and get a small amount to finish the job but have had no reply from messages.
