“My first time ordering anything Raspberry Pi related and the process was overall very straightforward. Your website was a little slow to update prices and when choosing a Pi 5 board - prices related to the different GB RAM didn’t always load up which made it a little confusing when understanding the prices - I had to double check outside of the PI Hut if these were correct. My only other negative would be related (and I understand it’s not something you can control) to the SHOP with the app leaving a lot to be desired. Aside from promoting businesses and brands which range from scams to the irrelevant - it is also very user-unfriendly, the tracking feature is slow and outdated - meaning if you hadn’t used a reputable courier - relying on SHOP to tell your customers where their parcel is inadequate to put it nicely. It’s almost impossible to successfully change payment method from the one that it has stored for a customer and likewise is difficult to modify the shipping address. I understand the execution is out of your control but hopefully enough vendors will realise that SHOP puts off a lot of potential customers from placing orders and when SHOP starts to see businesses migrate away from them or report issues, they might see to it to improve the end user experience. Last point regarding shipping - it’s a little disappointing that even when spending just under £200 in a single order - that the postage wasn’t free? There should be a free to ship threshold for orders of a certain size and this should really be at least orders of £50 upwards that qualify for such. I did receive my order promptly and was it was well packaged - though I did expect there to be an anti-static bag over the PI 5 when I purchased the board (not sure if this was The PI Hut or the manufacturer’s fault) otherwise the packaging was decent and my order made it through without damage - though I haven’t been able to boot the Pi 5 up yet or check the power adaptor. My fault but I didn’t realise the PI 5 doesn’t used a standard HDMI socket but a micro one - perhaps recommendations on your website could help eliminate this - suggesting such a cable when adding a board to your order could eliminate this - I have had to order this via Amazon and another vendor as the shipping cost is practically the same as the cost of the lead from you. Again I would ask that you reevaluate your shipping thresholds either based on order totals or size and weight of what is being ordered. Please take this review not as a moan - but in the spirit as it is intended to help improve the customer experience and make the ordering process a better, easier one from your side too. “Overall the website made things easy to order and pay. However when I received the items I installed the Pi HAT AI upside down! No I couldn't believe it at first. Took a while to realise and then resolved via YouTube. Therefore I think a massive improvement to the website would be to have links to actual assembly instructions for that particular model (i.e. the active cooler now comes with the pads already in place).”
