“The hedge tiles are really great and have made something ugly into quite a feature. Very convincing as an evergreen hedge. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the 10 tiles didn't quite cover 5m when installed. I have just had to order another one (I ordered 3 to have spares) and it cost be another £14.99 in shipping charges.”

“Overall, we are pleased with the finished product, (see photo 1) but there have been several problems with the product itself. Communication with The Outdoor Look, both by email and phone has been very good. Delivery time of the product was shorter than predicted and the lone driver was most obliging. Problems: The stainless steel cover caps were impossible to insert into the tops of the posts. The use of a rubber hammer had no effect; an ordinary hammer would have damaged the cap. In the end, the insert part of each cap had to be ground flatter before insertion was possible. (Big design fault) When fitting several of the glass panels, the rubber pads in the clamps left small gaps with the glass. This was overcome by adding “sliced” pads; (see video). One clamp had an obvious bend; this part was quickly exchanged by The Outdoor Look team. (No quality control by the manufacturers!) (see photo 2) Several stainless steel covers at the bottom of the posts, did not entirely fit onto the decking. I think that this was caused by some of the welding of the post into the foot not being grinded off sufficiently. Finally, the gap between the edge of the glass and the posts were too big. This meant that each rubber pad in the clamps was only using 70% of its surface area to support the glasses’ weight; (see photo 3) Fortunately, I did all the work myself. Had I employed a team for the job, there would have been many additional hours’ extra cost to fix these problems. Fitting the balustrade was quite challenging, but if you are thinking of doing the work yourself, please ask The Outdoor Look for my contact details. “Excellent quality but ridiculously expensive delivery costs. They need to use a courier service for smaller items as £40 delivery could have been less than a £10 with DPD or RM”

Hi Billy Thank you for your review, we are pleased that you are happy with the product you ordered. The delivery cost is based on the size of the product and the space it would take up in a vehicle. This would have been the same price with the courier service we also use. If you are able to get that item delivered at that price please feel free to send us the details so we can look into it for future orders

“Quality product. Not over impressed with the delivery charge, even less so when I went to order more decking clips (a relatively small box) and a £40 delivery was added for the sort of thing Amazon prime would be free. Would look elsewhere next time for that reason alone”

“My builder suggested composite decking when he came to refurbish my balcony (I live on the tow path of the River Thames). As I face North I wanted a very light product. He found you on the internet and ordered the material. I am amazed that the light decking can only be found in Lancashire when I live just South of London. However, all the staff that I had dealings with at The Outdoor Look have be professional and most helpful. So I thank them very much and look forward to being able to walk on to my balcony when the job is complete.”
