“I've been with The Accountancy Partnership for several years now as the sole director of a limited company, and honestly couldn't fault them. They're always quick to respond, professional and really personable, which makes dealing with anything accounting-related so much easier. A special mention to Chris Long, who's always been great at answering my questions and helping me get things sorted, as well as the admin team, who are always on hand whenever I've needed anything. “I engaged The Accountancy Partnership for my limited company accounts, Corporation Tax return and related tax matters. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and fell well below what I would reasonably expect from a professional accountancy firm. The most serious issue concerned my 2024/25 Self Assessment. I first raised this on 29 December 2025, raised it again on 5 January, and on 9 January explicitly explained that I did not have a Personal UTR, highlighted the 31 January filing deadline, and asked whether Self Assessment registration was required urgently. Despite this, the need to register for Self Assessment was only identified on 29 January — two days before the deadline. I then had to repeatedly chase for progress, clarification and action. The return was eventually completed around two months after I first raised the matter. There were also repeated issues with communication, ownership and internal file management. Information and actions that had already been completed sometimes appeared not to be known by the person responsible for my account. I ultimately requested that my accountant be reassigned, after which another member of the team took over and progressed the accounts. The first-year company accounts also did not meet the 4–6 week timeframe originally communicated to me. There was then a separate dispute over an additional Self Assessment fee which had not been communicated or agreed in advance. The invoice was eventually withdrawn. Particularly concerning was an email from the accountant stating, “Not sure if they agreed to the quote 😊”, which was then recalled shortly afterwards. I raised all of these issues through the firm's internal complaints process and subsequently referred the matter to the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). AAT investigated the complaint, contacted the firm and reviewed evidence from both sides. For completeness, AAT ultimately concluded that there was insufficient evidence to establish regulatory misconduct, and the complaint was closed. That outcome does not change my experience as a client. It simply means that the evidence did not meet AAT's regulatory threshold for misconduct. My biggest frustration was having to repeatedly identify issues myself, chase progress, request clarification and ultimately request reassignment simply to get matters moving. I expected professional guidance, clear communication and ownership from an accountancy firm. That was not my experience. I would not use The Accountancy Partnership again and would strongly recommend that prospective clients consider carefully how their affairs will actually be managed when something goes wrong. This review reflects my own documented experience as a former client.”
