“The 120 hour course is a good way to learn the necessary material and tips for teaching. Being able to repeat a quiz or assignment multiple times helps the learner feel more confident and more open to learn. Feedback from tutor is quick and very useful in understanding how you can improve”

“Telephone questions answered promptly - no call centre or voice systems, thank heavens. Courses well delivered - everyone comes across genuinely, rough edges included which is a good thing as it reflects reality. I would possibly update the one course on telephone learning as none uses just phone. My main concern is with after care. The blog has key questions on jobs for example all unanswered. I think the usp for TEFL.org should include testimonials on finding work afterwards as that's the whole point. Some of the online job postings are highly questionable when you go on to read Glassdoor and other reviews. Better to have testimonials from where your graduates actually ended up and post their company details. Overall very satisfied with my course and achievement. It's been something I wanted to do for many years.”

“Hi, I enjoyed the course. I would say that my only feedback is the course on teaching a class of 60 and how it was hard to envision teaching a class that big, in which I went from having video examples in every course expect this one.”

“Overall a good course. The only criticism I have is that the feedback for the end of methodology course was too vague. I previously wrote an answer matching all the criteria of the task, specifically adding the 3 concept questions to my answer. But I failed the task and the feedback was "you need to add 3 concept questions" which is what I already had done. So it wasn't clear enough how to improve the answer. I had to assume that the 3 concept questions were done wrong. The other feedback was fine. E.g. add an example to the practice and Production activity is too controlled. Another thing is that every so often I will be kicked from the course to the main page with the list of courses. This was quite frustrating to deal with as I had to reaccess the course again. Overall not too bad, just ambiguous feedback and the functionality of the website.”

“Overall I thought it was good. There were some places where I'd clean up the writing a bit; I'm a technical writer so things like that really jump out at me. 😊 There were also a couple of times when I misunderstood what was needed in the written assignments, so I would clarify those. (Those are the ones I didn't get right the first time.) The only other thing was a technical issue that sometimes when I clicked a forward arrow (at the bottom right) and instead of going to the next module, the course overview would appear.”

“The course was well structured, matter-of-factly written so the information was easy to understand and absorb. I learnt a great deal from the grammar and teaching methodology units. I would say some of the questions in the quizzes need rewording as they can be very vague at times, and some of the layout of assignments (Methodology Unit 12 tasks 4 and 5) can be improved to aid comprehension of how to complete them. But these issues effect a small amount of the course. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone wanting qualifications for teaching English as a foreign language.”

“Found TEFL.org very useful, PARTICULARLY the in-person class. Simon was so good and I felt like I learnt so much in just 3 days. Sometimes I felt the assignments could have been more accessible for neurodiverse people, the questions were very specific and didn’t lend themselves to much lateral thinking, but I understand they had to check that we had paid attention to the course. All in all I would recommend.”

“Generally it was pretty good but I think there could have been more variety in the level of the students' ability. The vast majority of the demonstrations were with intermediate students who appeared to understand everything the instructor said. It would be helpful to see more instruction with beginners who dont understand hardly any English.”
