“Overall I really enjoyed the course, I learnt a lot despite already having a teaching qualification which was brilliant and received great feedback from my tutor Alex. Only slight negative was sometimes the videos on class ideas weren’t the best in my opinion and I occasionally found it difficult to differentiate each element of PPP lessons.”

“Generally I have found TEFL to be very good indeed. I didn't really know what to expect since I've never studied for any qualification online before, so my expectations were somewhat neutral leaning towards pessimistic! It was not always clear who to contact for what problem but, nevertheless, once contact was made everyone was extremely helpful and quick to resolve the issues. The level 5 combined 220 hour diploma was very thorough and very well explained using the different modes of communication. However, I did find at times that a few of the quizz questions were somewhat ambiguous and, therefore, a little misleading. This was particularly the case with the telephone teaching module for which I left feedback. I have now just started the business teaching course since that will be my focus. I look forward to some others that you offer as well. I haven't yet looked into your jobs board or checked out all your resources but that will happen soon when I plan my entry into the teaching world. I am sure, then, that I will have further feedback to give, but I am extremely happy to be forever part of tefl.org and able to access these hugely helpful resources. Thank you. P.S. The 2-day in-person teaching was excellent (I confess, much to my surprise and delight!).”

“The lady who marked all of my assignments was so patient and gave me great guidance throughout the TEFL modules, very kind to me and explained things well, and I really appreciated it. Usually I get a bit stressed at studying difficult things but she and the TEFL course in general made things so much easier for me and was laid out in an easy to access and to understand way. “Fair price at $300. Very self paced. Some modules in the grammar course were biased toward british pronunciations, which made it more difficult for me being from the US. I also wish that there was the option to change the speed of the videos. As someone with ADHD, it became difficult to keep focus on the slower parts, and I ended up missing key information quite a few times. I am hesitant to recommend the course to anyone taking it online outside of the UK, as the notarization/apostille process becomes much more difficult.”

“I really liked the fact that this is an online course and that you can go at your own pace. The videos are a bit outdated at times and the telephone teching module should be completely removed and focus on online teaching. All in all, the course is quite OK but will benefit from some updating.”

“I thought it was incredibly helpful and it does cover lots of topics which are important to teach. However, at some point I felt like they were somewhat repetitive. I guess it just so you really get the point of what they're trying to teach you.”

“I found the TEFL course to be very informative and enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed the grammar section as a recap. It made me aware of how difficult it can for foreign students learning English, especially the grammar module. The 'Teaching Large Classes' module was the most challenging at the end when trying to complete the tests, but the constant revision and going back to revise has given me a clear vision and I feel I understand the module very well, so it was worth it. Thank you.”

“The course provided a solid foundation of general TEFL teaching methodology and briefly addressed special topics like teaching children or developing online lessons. I especially appreciated the opportunity to develop sample lesson plans and receive timely feedback on them from a tutor. While it was helpful to see how the theory can be applied in the classroom, I felt the examples scattered throughout the modules were sufficient. I didn't learn much from the Video Observation module and I feel that those hours could have been spent more productively going into more detail on teaching methodology.”

“The TEFL qualification provides a solid foundation of the essential knowledge needed for teaching. However, it doesn’t cover everything. Most schools will have their own specific teaching methods and may require you to adapt, which is completely fine because TEFL equips you with the core principles. My main issue with learning TEFL online is that it can be quite monotonous and uninspiring, even if you are passionate about teaching. The lack of variety in the design, such as the color scheme and layout, doesn’t help the experience either. Nevertheless, the content itself is very useful. If you stay focused on your goal and where you want to be upon completion, it’s definitely manageable. The tutors provide valuable advice and insights into lesson planning and classroom management, which can be incredibly helpful. Moreover, TEFL’s job placement network is a great resource, especially since finding a job independently can be quite challenging. Overall, I believe the TEFL course offers good value for the money. I would recommend it, but I do think there is room for improvement in making the material more engaging. It's somewhat ironic that a course designed for teaching professionals is itself rather dry. Hopefully, the TEFL organization will take this feedback into account and make future updates to enhance the learning experience.”

“The teaching methods taught in this course were great! I do hope that they could include more grammar teaching in the course tho. Some of the lessons weren't entirely clear and organized so I had to do a little research myself to understand them fully. My tutor, Angie, was friendly and enthusiastic! She provided me with great feedback and useful teaching tips throughout the course. Overall, I believe this is a good course especially for beginner like me. It's a good start to understand more about being an English tutor and the potential teaching methods.”
