“Using Sonarworks with the measurement mic was a revalation. It's finally brought my monitoring into the right ballpark for critical listening and mix decisions. I'm currently in a less than ideal mixing space with Genelecs and matching sub. All my mixes usually turn out boomy, with a lot uncontrolled low mids and exessive highs. I can compensate, but then the mix isn't enjoyable to listen to even if it will "translate" better. After deciding to try Sonarworks, I followed the extremely user-friendly measuring process (the software guide is interactive and holds your hand through the set-up). Viewing the results were eye-opening! I could see the massive 6-10db nulls in my space in the low mids and high frequencies, which explained my previous mix results. After applying the suggested corrective Sonarworks EQ the bass immediately tightened up, imaging became reliably accurate and the excessive highs were tamed. The sub now just rounds out the bottom octave without making itself heard which is exactly as it should be. I can't believe that for so long I've been missing out on what an accurate room measurement and subsequent EQ correction can bring to the table. I knew my space was contributing negatively, but I always thought that having good monitors was enough. That is not true. You need good monitors that are custom-tuned to your individual space to be able to trust what you're hearing and make good mix decisions that will translate to other systems. Now I own the Sonarworks reference mic and software I know that with any future monitor/mix space I find myself in I'll be able to apply a Sonarworks measurement curve tailored for that space and trust what I'm hearing straight away.”

“Honestly, sometimes the software is buggy, but the support staff is STELLAR. Always quick to respond, kind, and helpful. When everything's working, Reference gives me the perspectives I need to make my mixes the best they can be. I had a lot of anxiety mixing with my near-field monitors; all of that went away when I picked up Reference and the calibration mic.”

“They sent me a special offer which was almost the full purchase price and I bought it. Then found out it was only an upgrade. Customer service is awful and has not replied to attempts to sort it out. Awful company.”

Hello, Thank you for the review! Unfortunately, when the license was purchased there were no full licenses available for discount as it was an upgrade exclusive sale. If you'd like to use the upgrade code, simply purchase the regular SoundID Reference license and apply the purchased upgrade code. However, if a refund suits for you best, please let us know.
