“I got the educational edition at a discount as a student of The Reverse Engineer (mastering.com). The discount was very generous! The process of purchase and delivery was quick (shipping to Australia too) and flawless. I think the products are generally well priced even without the discount.”

“I've used Sound ID Reference for about 6 months now. After using the free trial version, I was hooked and purchased the full version with a calibration mic. I found out about it while researching mixing with headphones, as I do a lot of work away from my home studio, and found it gave me the ability to get much better mixes using Pro Tools on my laptop. It's very convenient to be able to switch response curves for my Sony MDR-7506 or the Sennheiser HD 6XX headphones I currently use as well as compare different possible listening scenarios to help dial in my mixes. I initially had an issue with coreaudioid on my Mac laptop that caused extreme cpu usage, but even though I was using the trial version, Sonarworks tech team responded quickly and we were able to resolve the issue easily with a back rev of the software. Overall, I found that finding information and the products I needed was very easy including the tutorials on using the mic to calibrate my home studio speaker system (Genelec 8040's in an oddly shaped room). There's always something new to learn when creating and mixing music. I think that for me, Sonarworks products are an invaluable tool to shorten that learning curve and allow my mixes to translate better on differing listening systems and in different listening environments like boomboxes, home, and car stereo systems.”

“Highly innovative software creator. I find it indispensable for mixing on speakers and headphones. However, I didn't enjoy the product name change and the strange licensing system, which in my case didn't initially work.”

Hello, Thank you for reaching out! We have changed the license activation procedure and how the license works to counter piracy. I hope this makes sense. The product name change had to take place since it is a different product with more functionality that Reference 4 did not bring. I hope this helps!

“I like the shopping experience on the Sonarworks site. Last year I ordered SoundID Reference including the microphone, but the ID of the mic was not in the Sonarworks database so that I couldn't use its individual calibration. They sent a completely new one to me (to Germany) in a few days, I didn't need to send the other one back at all. Excellent service!”

“Great company. Responsive and helpful. I use it everyday now and really helps. Especially with the ability to compare different environments and when accompanied by the testing microphone and the pre balanced headphones (I.e.
