I am disappointed that SoundID does not run under Windows 11. This is the only application on my audio PC that is not working with Windows 11. I am also disappointed, that the MIDI mapping feature is still not fixed. I reported this two years ago and received very promising feedback, but still, it is not fixed. I like the core functionality of the software

The product is great and as initially a v4 user I was happy. You ran a marketing campaign to get me to up grade 3 weeks ago and it reallly wasn't obvious what benefit the new version would be to me as I only use the product for monitor correction and don't need lots of different profiles. Fearing I'd miss out on future updates (Mac silicon) I laid the money and upgraded - as I suspected the upgrade offers me personally no new functionality, then I find you are doing a 50% off Black Friday deal - timing as they say is everything and I would have at a minimum said your direct marketing to existing users to upgrade should stop 3-4 months before a massive deal date like Black Friday. I am left feeling like I paid more than everyone else to upgrade and got not much for it ....as I say the basic function of the product is great

Great product. But I purchased the download for headphones on 7th Nov and received an email on the 17th detailing the Black Friday 40% reduction. I understand you have to draw the line somewhere. But you might consider customising your mailshots so new purchasers like me aren't left with such a bad taste in their mouth. It's really taken the shine off an otherwise excellent experience.

I couldn't get the Reference Measure to work. I tried everything, but only downloading the newest "beta" version helped. The measurement and correction sounds fine. The software detected about 1dB offset in volume from my left and right monitors, but I don't agree with it, so the option to turn it off comes in handy. Sometimes I get some little clicks and glitches while using the software, but it's minor I it really doesn't bother me. Overall it sounds good, so I guess it's ok.

After using SoundID Reference for a few weeks and comparing it to my friends install of Sonarworks Reference 4. I have found the SoundID systemwide app to be unstable, requiring rebooting of the machine. As it drops the signal path. I have both windows 10 & 11. And use Presonus 68C, Audient ID44, UAD Apollo Twin. We tested all hardware with both apps, and found, Sonarworks Reference 4 to be better at implementing, and maintaining the signal path. The worst failure is with Audient ID44 Also, on both windows 10 & 11 systems the taskbar icon for SoundID Reference is not visible, why? As for vst, both apps work. Yet again, SoundID Reference had issues with handing off audio signal routing, from the vst back to systemwide. Removing Sonar works resolves all sound routing issues, and the systems are back to stable audio paths. prior to install. But that's not what and why I paid for the product. I have tried drivers: 5.0.3.130/ beta 5.1.0.39 and are now trying 5.1.0.72. And 5.1.0.72 still has no taskbar icon. At present SoundID Reference is less reliable than Sonarworks Reference 4, I hope that will change. Thats been my experience so far.

Great app except it doesn’t work right when it takes over the sound of my whole Mac - very buggy

Hi Barclay, Thanks for the review! Could you please elaborate on the issue, what exactly is the buggy behavior? It would be great if you could submit a support request so that we can have closer look: https://www.sonarworks.com/support/new-ticket?brand=soundid-reference Thank you!

Been using Sonarworks software for 3 years. It does make your monitors sound better, specially fixing the phase issues and this is the nice part. What I hope to see in the future updates is the reliability of the system. The new SoundID paired with my M1 Mac and Apollo X interface has little cracks every now and then when playing music. The measuring app is crashing so I haven't been able to create a new profile for my slightly upgraded studio. When I need to listen what it sounds like through Sonarworks I turn it on but to avoid cracks and other issues I have it turned off when I work.

What would be missing is a monitoring controller where you can integrate several speaker profiles (which change each time you change speakers), so that it is perfect .. Has Sonarworks ever thought of that ?

Upgraded Sonarworks Reference v4 to SoundID. It’s the same excellent software, however it does seem to have quite a few bugs at the moment. I would recommend this in a few months once these have been ironed out.

the calibration is great in the logic plugin, systemwide does not work at all. updates break the product. i have sound id and reference 4 and both have glitches that make them unusable 80% of the time.

I have had few problems with SoundID Reference: 1) When starting a computer, calibration profile is not loaded or lost. 2) When closing a DAW session and opening it again, calibration profile is not activated in plugin. 3) When starting a computer, calibration profile output level is lower than Safe Headroom Enabled value. OS: Windows 10 DAW: Presonus Studio One Pro 4.6.2

I paid for upgrade which essentially adds simple parametric eq to Reference program. In exchange I received buggy software that lacks even function to copy eq curves between plugin and systemwide version. Good idea but weak execution. So far this is like Cyberpunk in audio world I know you can do better Sonarworks.

Update: Marco sorted the issue for me having seen my 1* review. Thanks Marco! Initial reply to my issue had not helped as it did not acknowledge the problem with their web account site but the latest reply with Marco manually inputting my new key has done so. Faith restored. Bit of a pain to upgrade though, all told. Got there in the end. Hurrah! Customer re-gained. Original: Shockingly poor. Tried to upgrade from Reference for Headphones to Sound ID for Headphones having actually wanted to upgrade to the full Reference 4 software (but couldn't do so as no longer for sale). Couldn't get an upgrade code as the new website account doesn't recognise my earlier purchase and so won't generate an upgrade code for the new software. Utterly useless tech help that didn't appreciate the issue. Customer lost.

A great bit of software that does it's job incredibly well, but with a few super annoying bugs, for example, when left for a while the Sound ID virtual driver on Windows disappears. This wouldn't be too much of an issue, within the reference software there's a "restart playback engine" option, however selecting this option causes the software to crash and shutdown, every single time. APO drivers are completely broken, they've failed to work on multiple interfaces that I've tried, and although everything still works without, it'd be so much easier if this was fixed. MIDI control functionality is also nowhere to be found, as it was removed for causing problems with the software. None of these problems are dealbreakers, just pretty annoying! Time will tell whether Sonarworks fixes them or not, if they do then this review will easily go up to 4 or 5 stars.

Don't know what to think about the Sonarworks SoundID. On headphones it works fine. I bought a calibrated set of HD650 from Sonarworks, and with SoundID they sound well-balanced. When it comes to speakers, it's another story. I have strictly and several times followed their calibration process with their own calibrated reference microphone. Yet the sound I get is thin and uninspiring to listen to. It is certainly not the same frequency balance that I get in the headphones. Furthermore their stand-alone driver for Windows reports errors all the time (using asio). In reality I can only use the plugin version.

SoundID is super buggy on MacOS but I guess at least you're trying to fix it so that's fine.

First, how come that Cubase gives an error on loading the updated version of Sound ID by saying it is a 32 bit plugin? Second: Can you please add Austrian Audio X65 to the profile section
