No complaints re the company and the ease of ordering and downloading software, but... ordered Windows 10... laptop started loading then looped back requiring key input again and again. Aborted that. Purchased Windows 7. Same problem. Must be my laptop. However, Despite very competitive pricing, this turned out to be a waste of money on my part. How do you get a refund in these circumstances? Difficult when it boils down to compatibility issues. I took a risk ordering this software. I won't do it again but acknowledge that there are plenty of customers who've had success with their software. Just inlucky I guess.

Hi Jeffrey, Please could we ask that you pop onto the online chat tomorrow from 10am-4pm so that we can walk you through the setup of Windows. The problems you're facing sound like local hardware issues. Kind Regards, Softwaregeeks

I have eventually installed Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron Laptop that I had upgraded to Windows 10, but caused problems that would not let me downgrade again. So I bought the SoftwareGeeks Windows 7 serial. I followed the apparently simple instructions, downloaded the USB ISO and burned it via the program supplied - no problems yet. When I tried to install via USB it gave me a "missing DVD/CD drivers" error! I found this a bit confusing seeing as I was not using the DVD to install, after about 4 or 5 attempts to make sure I wasn't doing it wrong, I contacted SoftwareGeeks support (who replied within 3 hours on a bank holiday, quite impressive), and they said I needed the dvd drivers from the laptop manufacturer (Dell). After a long search (over a couple of days), I found the drivers, put them on the USB and tried again, but during the install the laptop refused to recognize the USB device!!! So I looked online for similar problems and after a long (VERY LONG) search, I narrowed it down to one of two things, either the BIOS needed to be reset, or the USB install had a problem with USB 3.0. So I reset the BIOS and used a different USB port. Not sure which was the correct answer, but 20 minutes later I had Windows 7 on my laptop. The SoftwareGeeks product is good but I couldn't find this solution on the help pages, otherwise I would of given them 5 stars.

Hi Richard, We don't understand what you mean. The license was emailed to you immediately upon purchase. If you're referring to downloads, this depends on the speed of your internet connection. We have not received any emails from yourself requesting any returns. Regards, Softwaregeeks

Received the Code immediately for Win 7 Pro and entered it into a Windows build that had been showing 'Non Genuine' for some time. I purchased the code to get the Win 10 Upgrade offer. My P.C took the supplied key and Windows showed up as validated. I went on to Start the upgrade to 10 and it told me that the windows was still not Valid. Windows 7 reported back fine though. I couldnt resolve this Windows support were no help (blaming these guys for selling counterfeit Keys (Not true)). Contacted these guys for support (software geeks) on the live chat. Not much more help, very defensive, They started asking questions about by Windows build then I got 'cut off'. Due to the way I run my system, a Fresh install from original media, causes me very little inconvenience. I did this and got the Windows build to install (entering the key at the beginning of the install). I validated the new build on the 3rd windows 'online validation' attempt. The point of this Story is PRODUCT = 5 STARS. BUT IF YOU RUN INTO PROBLEMS, YOU CANT COUNT ON PRO-ACTIVE AND SYMPETHETIC SUPPORT. Great product, if you have the resources to troubleshoot.

I purchased Windows 7 code firstly, and had to chase it up as didn't get an email with the code on. Then I realised it was actually windows 7 professional that I had, so asked if there was any possibility of a swap of code. I did not get any reply from this later email. Therefore I had to buy another code and can't use the first one. Again, I had to chase up the second code as it wasn't sent in the confirmation emails. Price of the code is good, but I am not very impressed with customer service.

Hi Helena, This is not true. You replied to the automatic email you received upon purchase which contained the code, asking for the code. We pointed out that the code was already in the email chain (original email). As our return policy states, we cannot simply swap codes purchased in error.

Hi Paul, As advised and stated in our return policy, we cannot simply refund orders purchased in error once a license key has been sent out, as we're unable to resell the license to any other person(s). Kind Regards, Softwaregeeks

Bought a Windows 7 Pro 64bit key. I was disappointed to find I had to activate by phone as the key was only valid for installations from partitions. Nonetheless the key does work OK and windows activated successfully. One other thing I couldn't do was download a Win7 ISO from official MS site; when this key was entered onto the Windows download site it was invalid. I had to reply on the download supplied by Software Geeks, which again was OK. Fast electronic delivery, and great value for a license key, regardless of how it was activated.

Paid the very reasonable fee with credit card - received licence and links for 32bit and 64bit disk images within a minute. Followed (not totally clear) installation instruction's and successfully installed and registered the operating system (Windows 10 Pro). Operating system is downloading updates and reports that it is activated. Not received hard copy of licence despite contacting Software geeks by email hence only rating. Telephone contact not working.

I didn't expect to have to create a disc/USB, I had to purchase a keyboard with working function keys to download the software, but after this all went well

Simple and straightforward purchase process, though getting a VAT invoice is becoming a little bit of a challenge.

Whilst the product was oh great value, the time spent installing it was not. A person who has little or no experience of OS installation would struggle with it.

Originally I gave Software Geeks a 5* rating... but had an issue with being able to post my review, which was original top marks and very good!!! but... since then, I have tried numerous times to contact Software Geeks about an order I had placed... I received what I ordered only in a single format which was part of the order completion form... I was then under the impression that I would receive what I had ordered via post, which was supposed to have given me the original stickers for the licenses in which I had ordered... My first email gained a response in which I was asked to provide my order number, then I did not hear from anyone again... even after numerous emails asking them to update my query with the information required... This has left me very annoyed as I have not even had a simple update of information or apology for a delayed reply...

A fair enough price for a Win 7 activation key. It could be a little clearer as to when you can expect an email with the activation code (Monday to Friday and Weekends). I guess because I bought on a Saturday and the process behind the scene is manual I had to wait until someone picked up my order and physically process it. I was sent an email with the activation key incorrectly typed in so it didn’t activate (not sure why they didn’t just take a pic on a phone and mail that?). However, all worked out in the end and received a hard copy of the activation key in the post a few days later. I am a satisfied customer, but a few minor tweaks to slicken up the process would be good

I recently purchased Windows 8.1 Pro (ISO download) with license key (by e-mail) at a very reasonable price from SoftwareGeeks. The e-mail with download link and key arrived within 3 hours. The download links were to the x86 and x64 English U.S. versions (I would have preferred UK, but read on). I downloaded the x64 ISO and burned it to disk. The key provided did not work with the download from the link provided in my mail. The key was not asked during install but after install I tried entering the key to activate offline. I think the version in their link was for the 'volume license' release but I may be wrong. However, when I downloaded the regular copy from Microsoft, I could choose the English UK edition, again x64, and this time the supplied license key worked fine (it was accepted during installation; I have not tried to activate with the key because I will reinstall to an NVMe SSD when it finally arrives). Actually, the only thing I needed was the key which worked fine. Software Geeks simply need to provide links direct to the appropriate Microsoft download page, rather than to their own copies which do not work with the key they supplied to me. Anyway... I've decided to skip Windows8 and go straight for Windows10. I will do a clean install of Windows10 rather than an update of Windows8(.1) or Windows7. Therefore I will not actually use the key I purchased to activate Windows8.1. I will not ask for a refund as this was my choice, and anyway, why would they refund me? If they were to refund people in this way then anyone could claim that they 'never activated windows with the supplied key'
