“Hi. I ordered a backing plate for my Rupes machine. This was showing in stock on your website. I was then told it wasn't in stock (ok, these things happen). I was told I should have it around 4-5 days later than initially expected and there would be some nice freebies added for the inconvenience. Great. So I eventually received the backing plate 23 days later with no freebies. Disappointing service. I appreciate things don't always go to plan however I am very disappointed with this service.”

“Choice of products is great and prices are very good, but when you pay for next day delivery and it takes 2, it kind of annoys you. Won't stop my buying from them again, but I couldn't believe it when my parcel didn't turn up when requested.”

“They were out of stock on one of the items I ordered (250ml menzerna compound) . I had a phone call asking if I would pay £14 more and get the larger bottle instead. I didn't want to pay any more so they sent me a different 250ml compound. Although I am happy with the products I received, I'm not overly impressed with Slims. I thought it was cheeky of them to ask me to pay more, as it wasn't my fault they didn't have the stock to fulfill my order. Something as simple as a cheap air freshener included in my order as a little apology would have gone a long way. I'm not sure I will purchase from them again.”

“Ordered two items on line. Only one item delivered then rung to be advised item was out of stock and would be with me in 7 days. Received the item 3 weeks later after ringing. Was told that as a token on their behalf I would received some free items. I didn't!”

“I have started my own business recently after many years of being an obsessed detailer. I needed a trade discount and couldn't believe the Slims prices. The Range isn't the biggest compared to some car cleaning companies BUT they have all you need for the most part and the customer service is second to none. My welcome pack for my trade account was awesome and the 15% discount is brilliant too. The shipping could be cheaper under £50 in my view BUT with free shipping over £50 you cannot moan. I also had a snow foam lance recently that didn't work that well and all it took was one email and James apologised and built another and sent it out right away in time for another job I had at the weekend. It works awesome. Great company and you never feel like another number.”

“i placed an order with you guys everything was in stock (i used my trade acc so the 15% off is a winner) i choose to collect my order from the Enfield shop, at the shop i was treated like an old friend not a customer, got my order and some freebies & samples.. i have made the decision to only use slim's going forward. well done to James & the team. THE DETAILING BUREAU”

“Excellent website, easy to navigate, good information on products to make an informed decision. As of yet only used 3 of the four products I ordered (dodo wax I have used before which is excellent) Chemical Guys black to black, first time used and gives amazing results, instantaneous, one piece of advice leave for a little longer to 'dry' than says on the tin which gives better results in my case, first time using Koch Chemie Nano Magic PlastCare, used as restoring a convertible car and the rubber seals on the roof were aged this product has revitalised, softened and given a new look. Amazing. Will be back to get more products.”

“Slim's might not be a massive name in the scene like some of the other providers of detailing goods but make no mistake, the quality of service you receive from these guys is just as good if not better! Items comes wrapped individually with taped up lids to prevent any leaks in transit (something other companies don't bother with) & all come in boxes packed to the top with foam. As long as Slim's stocks the stuff I need, I will continue to purchase it through them. Not to mention the rewards system is an added bonus for any serious detailing who purchases items on a regular basis. Brilliant service and quick delivery via a tracked courier.”

“I received my Slims detailing creeper/stool and pot of Valet Pro Back to the Future in good timing. Actually got passed the items at the door and wondered 'What an earth are these' The only reason i haven't given full marks is because before i ordered i had actually emailed them through the website with regards to the discount code not working for first time buyers. I was at the time only ordering the creeper and not even the bank holiday discount code worked. I can only assume, as with the Bank Holiday code it wont allow you to use it when ordering accessories and tools. As it discounted the Valet Pro stuff. However it would have been nice to have had a reply even it was to say 'No'. But after waiting a few days i gave up waiting as it was actually a birthday present for me from She Who Must Be Obeyed. Ha ha. I did notice on Detailing World they had replied to someones comment about discount codes not working. However i read that after placing the order. Oh well.”

Hi Joe, thanks for your recent purchase from Slim's and subsequent review. Firstly we can only apologise you didn't receive a personal reply, it's my fault as I thought you and the customer show commented on Detailing World were the same person (mistaken identity, it would seem). Therefore I thought I had replied with the correct information. Our promotional e-mails, social media adverts & the basket page on the website all state, that equipment/machine polishers are excluded from discount codes & other promotions. We source our own equipment at a very competitive rate which we cannot discount any further as they are already heavily discounted to meet demand. Again, I can only apologise this wasn't clearer as you made your purchase. We are obviously disappointed you have given us a slightly negative review as despite the above you were still happy to place an order for the products at the normal retail price. We pride ourselves on our great service and as a new company take any comments like yours very seriously. In light of my comments above (and my case of mistaken identity - sorry again!) - I would ask if you would reconsider your review rating for the service provided.
