I was very disappointed with my experience with this company. I was accepted onto their SGS Service Plan, and I was under the impression that the initial inspection was simply part of the process with no extra charge. However, I was later invoiced for the inspection—something I was never informed about. Despite reaching out for clarification, the response I received cited contract clauses that had not been clearly communicated during my application. This lack of transparency and poor communication left me feeling misled and frustrated. I would advise potential customers to ensure all fees and conditions are clearly explained before committing to the service.

Initially, I was very impressed with SGS energy. They seemingly have competitive pricing and very nice documentations of how you could save money with their install, but unfortunately after I sent the deposit things deteriorated. 1. I had questions regarding battery size, and the agent I spoke with told me he did not know why the given battery was chosen or if a higher capacity would be a better option. It was left there. 2. They stopped communicating promptly after the deposit was made. I emailed them two separate instances about the installation date and installation plans with no response for over one week with multiple email attempts. 3. The final straw for me was understanding the poor installation design. They wanted to use wood frames for the panels and incorporate these into our new roof. This would create many weak points in the roof which would be susceptible to leaks and rot. These points would require ongoing checks and maintenance. Industry standard is to install panels on a flat roof with an aluminium frame that sits on the top of the sealed flat roof (ask any roofer or chatgpt). This is why their pricing seems competitive. They cut corners to seemingly save money. Given all these issues, I decided to back out as I had a lack of confidence in their procedures. They refused a full refund. Be very wary of this company! They might come up cheaper, but that is because they cut corners with the install which could cost you later down the line. They are also very unresponsive after they take your money. Go elsewhere!

Hi there, We are not sure who you are as a customer, but we are not SGS Energy. We are SGS Heating and Electrical based in Salisbury, Wiltshire. It's not the first time this has happened to us, and we advise people who leave reviews on our platforms about this situation. If you are reviewing SGS Heating and Electrical, please feel free to contact us on 01722 331066 or email info@sgsgas.co.uk so we can look into your complaint more thoroughly. Was on the receiving end of one of their lovely drivers deliberately splashing me by going through a large dirty pot-hole puddle in their van. If this is the type of person they employ, I would not trust them with my gas/electric supply.

If you look back in the reviews you will see that I gave SGS 4 stars for installatiion. Lost one star for not following the manufacturers fitting requirements which would have invalidated the warranty for the boiler. Then a problem arises potentially relating to a pump with a 5 year warrenty. First, SGS wanted to charge for a call out. Apparently because it was out of warrany by one month. I expressed that I was not happy so they waived the call out fee and then told me I would have to pay the list price for a replacment pump £256 . I said I was not prepared to do so asking them to check the warranty. Came back with no it is 12 months. In the meantime I myself contact the manufacturer of the pump and yes a 5 year warranty. Sgs should replace the pump and get a replacment from their supplier. Not a hint of embaressment from SGS that a customer felt they had to check their responses. In fact I would say irritation. They blamed their supplier for misleading them thatnit was 12 months. Funny their quote itself referred to a five year waranty. They have very good reviews so prospective customers so my experience may be an aberation. However, check very carefully the warranties they provide and get written responses for your records for future use. Sadly, the protacted interaction I have has in merely checking out a simple warranty matter has left a rather bad taste. Its a shame.

Failed to diagnosis fault with heating system. Palmed off with excuses like plumbing fault, so plumber attended to find no issue. Heating engineer attended again to fit valve that was broken during earlier service and still could not find fault and told water pressure into property was insufficient. Had to get another company in that knew what they’re doing so, boiler working boiler fixed in 24 hours after 2 weeks of no hot water. Disappointingly had a large bill to pay despite hot water still not working. Rang several times to ask what could be done and sent email with video of the boiler making loud noise whilst running. Only calls back were from accounts demanding payment. Not a satisfied customer.

Mr Doggrell Many thanks for your review. Obviously it's very disappointing for us to read. I apologise for the inconvenience caused. We are investigating the matter internally and someone will contact you directly. Kind regards SGS Heating & Electrical Ltd
Engineer was fine. However charging us near £400 to replace a few small parts and about 30 minutes work is nothing short of disgusting, really quite angry and upset. please avoid!!

Appalling customer service. I was told that an engineer would be out in the morning between 9 and 12 to service my boiler. When nobody had arrived by 1230 I called and was told that the engineer was just leaving his previous customer. When he still hadn't arrived by 2pm I called again and was told that he was on his way. I was then called back to say that he wasn't on his way at all as he'd been called to an emergency somewhere else. They were going to send someone else who was "on his way" but I told them not to bother. I wouldn't have minded if they'd had the courtesy to call me and let me know what was happening rather than me having to keep calling them and then being told that he was on his way when he obviously wasn't.

Hi Many thanks for your feedback. We will look into the issues you've raised as a matter of urgency. Kind regards SGS Heating & Electrical
We have waited over a week to get our non working heating running again, heating engineer very helpful, diagnosed a faulty pump. He had no time to fix it. 1 hrs work. The office girls advised 10 more days to wait for pump change. No heat, no hot water on a system they originally fitted. Emergency service?? I don’t think so. Local plumbers from now on I think.
