We have waited over a week to get our non working heating running again, heating engineer very helpful, diagnosed a faulty pump. He had no time to fix it. 1 hrs work. The office girls advised 10 more days to wait for pump change. No heat, no hot water on a system they originally fitted. Emergency service?? I don’t think so. Local plumbers from now on I think.

When I had an unexpected heating problem the ladies who answer the phone were unfailingly polite and patient with my panicking. David the engineer was polite and efficient : quite happy to explain everything about the repair / system.

I had an emergency of the hot water being pushed up into the cold water tank in the roof space, because of a faulty valve, causing a flood from the overflow and constant boiling water from the hot tap. The noise from the overflow sounded like a low flying aircraft....The engineer came very quickly and sorted out the problem enough for me to go on holiday the following day. Another very efficient and polite engineer came back yesterday, the day after I returned, to complete the job and I am well pleased and relieved.

Booked in for an oil boiler and tank to be decommissioned and the regular system changing over to a gas combi. The sales man was very polite, not pushy and advised well. The engineers were Tony & Ali and they were both courteous, informative and professional. They have done a sterling job and left the place nice and tidy.

SGS responded promptly to a request to diagnose a problem with my elderly father’s boile and carried out a thorough examination which revealed a major crack which was beyond economic repair, not surprising given the age of the boiler. A fair and reasonable quotation was subsequently provided for a replacement boiler within 24 hours. The engineers were polite and professional and I would be happy to recommend SGS to others.

From the moment my husband made the first telephone call the service we received was absolutely outstanding. Within two hours of the first call a gentleman from the SGS team arrived at our home to discuss our options. He was not in any way a pushy sales man but made helpful suggestions and explained in a way I could understand (I am not a heating engineer!!) A couple more telephone calls from him and arrangements were made to fit new boiler. The engineer arrived on the exact time arranged, I can honestly say he never stopped working all day he had no breaks (to be honest I was getting worried he hadn't eaten). For such a young person he was very knowledgable in the product he was fitting extremely polite and a very clean worker no mess whatsoever. I think he is an absolute credit to his employers. As noted earlier the service we received and after service was absolutely outstanding, cost very reasonable, I would very highly recommend SGS to anyone who may be thinking of having new boiler/ heating system fitted. I wish SGS continued success for the future.

Engineer rang before he came, and came as arranged. Polite and professional. I was advised when booking that servicing 2 boilers, one gas water heater and two gas hobs would take 3 hours. I learnt two days before they came it was going to cost £370 plus VAT, which I thought was expensive but for 3 hours work plus travelling wasn't extortionate. However engineer was only there for an hour and half including completing paperwork. Which proved astronomically expensive per hour, especially as our church is struggling financially to survive. Would I use them again ? No I'll be trying to find someone cheaper.

Third visit for the change of our LPG domino hobs (caused by hob suppliers not including all LPG jets which were required), and not the first time we have used SGS (both for LPG and heating system). Good service, reliable engineers and helpful office staff and leave the site clean and tidy. Good to be able to support a local provider who look after their customers. Costs are always competitive, if not better than some other gas/ heating companies.

Elliott arrived slightly before the time he was due - in my book, a big plus mark. He tackled our gas fire service without fuss, without mess but with friendliness and cheerfulness. I have no knowledge of what makes a good service but I was impressed by Him and believe he will have done an excellent job.
