Sales person Guy Gibson could not be faulted for the service given. But not happy about the promised delivery date, which was the main reason they got my sale over and above the rivals, not happening and the quality of the work carried out by the workshop on my new car was absolutely dreadful. No official apologies or recompense offered.

The sales process recieved from Victoria was brilliant from The start. Until the manager got involved. We went in to complete the relevant paperwork. Chelsie was rude, and very aggressive in the way she spoke , a real shame considering. Will not be returning our custom in the future. Customer service has gone down hill!!!!

Went to upgrade our car. The salesman was very intimidating and only showed us one “available” car which my husband was happy with. It was only when we got home that we saw on their website a few cars we could have chosen from. We weren’t offered any other options for cars given the forces discount my husband could have received. I’d have also thought that spending so much on a car that we would at least have been given car mats! Perhaps when we upgrade our other Kia, we will go to another dealership or speak to a less intimidating sales rep who has been there longer and knows more about giving the customer what they want.

Alloys needed refurbishing on a car I bought from here which they kindly sorted out quickly so I could pick the car up about 4 days after purchasing it. However both wheels on the rear of the car then had to have a valve resealed due to this not being done by whoever did the alloy refurb. Tried to make the garage aware of this and at first they suggested I had a puncture which it wasn’t and once I’d had the wheels checked to confirm the issue I then tried to advise the garage of this again and they said the tyre pressure warning light could be coming on due to cold weather even though I had the car checked at this point and told them there was a problem. I kept getting told if there’s any issues with the car to let them know but felt like as soon as I’d bought the car they weren’t interested.

what can I say on delivery to me parts of the car including engine were filthy. this was rectified but too late. the thrill of purchasing a brand new car was squashed as mine resembled a second hand car. whilst rob the salesman and the sales manager were great this car was far from the standard I expected. valeter get your finger out

I went to pick up my car and it was covered in bird muck, dirt marks and some micro scratches. Inside the car had not been detailed very well with muck on the drivers instrument display binacle. Dispite the sales man having driven the car to fuel it he had not thought it necessary to sort it out and had to be asked three times to sort it out. I also negotiated a full tank of fuel with the sale but was only give 3/4 tank, a small but annoying thing after the rest of the issues.

I bought an Abarth here. The car had a great many stone chips on it and I had to fight hard to get this remedied. Phone calls were often not returned. I was given a verbal quote for parking sensors of under £100. I had it done and had a bill for £156. I complained about this but basically nothing has been done and since my daughter bought an Abarth elsewhere (wise woman) I have heard nothing. I would not buy from them again

Problems from day one when I selected the car that I wished to purchase. There was a problem that the log book had been put in someone else's name so it had to be sent back to the DVLA. This then took 3 weeks to return. When I finally went to pick my car up I was told that there was another problem with documentation so I waited another two weeks for this. I was given a fleet car as a replacement from then but all this time there was a complete lack of communication.

The after sales service was appauling. I had my car 4 days and it broke down whilst driving. I phoned SG PETCH hoping for some assistant but they just fobbed me of saying that they dont have a recovery truck to come collect the car. So i had to arrange my own recovery. Upon arrival at the store not 1 member of staff came to speak to me or apologise for the situation, which is shocking customer service.

When I originally agreed purchase of vehicle I stipulated it would include the fitting of a roof film as the car is used for driving tuition. I supplied the film, it was not fitted until I threatened to reject the car under sale of goods act and that I would not use S G Petch for servicing of both my vehicles and that I would not return to buy a vehicle in the future, stress I did not need.

Poor deleting of car on purchase. New mats ordered for car and not available on purchase day turned out to be a used set.

Waiting for parts we thought they would have them in stock in the parts dept. Then were told it would be a few days and we are still waiting over two weeks later.

The car itself I am very happy with although there was 4 dents and some paintwork damage which I pointed out and was assured would all be sorted when I picked it up which when I came to pick up my car they had just painted over the dents not removed them and touched in the some of the scratches and chips but the quality of the touch ins was terrible and made the damage no less visible so I handed the car back and was assured when I picked it up again that they would all be done and some were yet the standard wasn’t anything special and only 3 our of 4 debts were removed and others were missed I can’t fault the staff and sales person they were more than accommodating but the quality of bodywork isn’t very good at all

Hard to get a fair deal, communication within the branch is appalling and I didn't feel like a"VIP" customer. Car was eventually collected four days after it was promised.

Faults noticed on pick-up. Repairs promised. But, here we are 2 months down the line. No further on. The branch is trying to wriggle out of responsibility. Leaving us to sort the problem. These problems should be rectified before a car goes on the forecourt. Now, I know your thinking that's extra expense. But, generally speaking, you will have to do it. The longer it is left the more it will cost to rectify. If you are buying from this company. Make sure any repairs/problems are corrected before accepting the car. If they are not done to your satisfaction DON'T TAKE THE CAR!! Because after that you are right royally up the creek.

Very poor communication from the sales department once we had signed for the vehicle. I had to contact them several times to finally confirm a delivery date. I also had to ask for a registration number which turned out to be the wrong one which resulted in my insurance being for the wrong registration. So I had to call them while I was at the garage collecting my car to chage my policy.

Poor customer service once car was sold and signed for after finding various quality faults. Poor and vague communication with regards to important pieces of information. I felt that as soon as the car was sold they were quick to get rid of me as if they didn't want me to find any issues that would complicate their normal working duties. Selling cars quickly matters first, customer service and quality not so important.

Bought a car that had a small area of rust under the back windscreen, I was told this was covered under the warranty and it would be sorted in a few days, then that the body-shop was busy and it would be a couple of weeks, then I had to take it is for a photo to be taken (even though they could have took one before I drove it away). I was then informed it was very quiet in the body-shop, I'm still waiting! 7-8 weeks now, not good enough.

Initially I was quite pleased with the experience of buying my used car at Petch Darlington. Even though they did not return calls from day one! However, when I arrived home and checked the paperwork and other details, I found three important errors. 1. Between ordering and paying for the car and the delivery day, there was an addition of nearly two thousand miles on the clock!. 2. On the warranty it described the car as manual, when it is in fact automatic. Making the warranty nul and void. 3. No users manual was with the car on delivery. The salesman was very sympathetic and agreed that these matters are unacceptable, and needed attention. He promised to obtain a handbook, I am still waiting!, no answer to the extra mileage. And no return phone call yet! It just shows that the old adage re car salemen is true. You can't trust them! Once they have your money they couldn't care less.
