HEADLINE: **NEVER EVER USE THIS SERVICE** And read ALL the small print! I spoke to 4 guys on the phone who were all rude and unhelpful.** _______________________________________________________________________________________ Prologue: They are so good at getting you to pay up front for what seems like its going to be a cheap price - I was suckered in months ago (First mistake). Comms up front are good and all seems to be going swimmingly. ________________________________________ BUT, once they have your car it's basically held hostage. You have no idea where it is and then you get the 'lunchtime call' "there's a few extras required"...another £300-£400 worth in fact. I have a lease car, so at this point I asked if it was absolutely necessary to pass the VW service plan, as otherwise I didn't want it done. They said the brake pads could be missed but that a list of other things couldn't so, I felt like I had no choice - I said "OK". And therein lay my second mistake. You then get an email (which I didn't read fully - third mistake) saying that ordinarily you would have 14 days to change your mind BUT that agreeing to anything on the phone waives your rights. I contacted VW who said they would be happy to do the whole service including all the parts Servicingstop had listed for over £100 less. So, I immediately called servicestop back. Strangely, not so quick to answer the phone this time....15 mins in fact. Then a young guy told me I could only speak to Daniel as he was my service manager but, unfortunately he was with another customer, so I would be added as his 'next outgoing call' on the system. Over an hour later....I call back (another 15 minute wait) to be told exactly the same by another young guy, so I asked to be put on hold until Daniel was available...phone went dead. I call back, another young guy tells me exactly the same - except this time apparently Daniel is away on lunch (interesting since guy No. 2 had apparently been looking at him across an office!)...."and anyway the works probably been completed by now as you verbally agreed to it on the phone" (please see mistakes 1 & 2!) I said please check with the garage that so I can cancel. SURPRISE! only Daniel (who has been unavailable for the last two hours) can ring and ask a garage if the work has been started. Interesting business model. Sounds like the 'delay the customer -> work gets done -> customer HAS pay' model. I need my car, so with this info I pay the bill in full - they were quick at sending the receipt and the first 'work undertaken' document I had had access to. I did however email customer service about the price of the items being so much more than VW themselves. I won't bore you with the Jessica's response which basically says they are very upfront about their costs and processes (ahahahahahaha) to which I replied " whatever helps you sleep at night but please release my car from this hostage situation". _______________________________ Epilogue: To add insult to injury Jessica responded saying the garage where behind with their schedule! (how could she possibly know this when only Daniel has access to the garage? - maybe they have a lone wolf in their mix?!) and that they would try to get it back for between 4-6pm. So here I sit at my workdesk at 5pm on POETS day awaiting a call to say my hostage is being released and I can limp back home from work after a very long and expensive week. But SERIOUSLY....for your sanity and your wallet - don't touch them with a barge pole.

Very Very disappointed with service stop, in April of this year I booked a service with this company who never showed up i was not happy as I had the day off work. I contacted service stop to see what had happened, to my surprise they didn't seem bothered.what has annoyed me most is that everyday since April I have received emails from them saying book another service or mot ect. I have sent them messages back saying that iam sick of the emails and they must stop please, but to no avail I would not advise anyone to have anything to do with this ignorant company... .......

Stay away. Took my car for an MOT and service, then rang up and had to pay an extra £25 of what they said was 'special' oil !! Then tried to upsell everything form flushing engine, rske fluid, csm belt etc etc. Go to a good garage that is reasonably priced

Stay away!, I repeat...Stay away!!. I would have given this less than 1 star if possible. I booked in for a full service and MOT. Car was collected early today only to be called mid-afternoon that my car failed MOT due to my x2 rear suspensions that needs replacing for about £398 each (£796 total) to which I replied not to go ahead. Let us assume this even needs changing, its no where £800 for this sort of job...a complete rip off. I know better for next time..go to my local trusted mechanic

It was the most stressful and expensive car service I've ever had. Poor communication once they have your car , do not recommend it. They've returned my car at 7pm (instead of 4-6) without informing it, I thought I'll be left hiring a car for work. It started great, prompt two calls to confirm the appointment, collection early as promised at 8am and they promised to return my car after servicing between 4-6pm. They called at 2pm saying there are several things to do quoting me in total over £800 incl service. I had full service done 6 months ago, so it seemed a lot but I didn't have time to shop around so I as I was at work and didn't have time to think but I've asked for full breakdown so I know what I'm paying for. But the email I got included only a list of things not the cost breakdown so I called right back to change my mind 5min later as I felt uninformed but I was left leaving several messages and emails for Gary who called me an hour later and said its too late to cancel additional works worth £700 as they've all been done now (in one hour?! Really?) and my car'll be ready by 3pm. I got confused with the invoice because the costs had base costs and vat separately (as you see on the pic) on top of what I expected and labour and it didn't state I already paid for service so I asked them to call me again but waited 3 hrs for the call, again leaving several messages. All the mobiles they've called me earlier were invalid or unable to call back. No email responses at all. Gary called me after 5pm, I've paid with him on the line and never been told about delay of retuning my car so I expected it by 6pm. It was past 6pm and I waited and waited. I called the office but it was closed, numbers didn't work. Finally, some random girl dropped it off at 7pm! I'm not very good with costs but come on aircon top up was £300! They also recommended changing very expensive timing belt when I asked if they know for sure it needs changing because I've changed it already they said they don't know it, they just don't have records of it being changed. See the pic of costs breakdown.

I had booked my car pick from 8-10 a.m I get a call at 10 to say they were running late. Suddenly they cancelled, and worse for me was the MOT ran out that day. I had booked MOT and service. There is no phone service just live chat yet they are very quick to take your money, In my case £158.00 Now they tell me that it will take 7-10 days for refund. Very unreliable.

Terrible communications. Found the garage they were middle-manning for and spoke to them instead as they were much more helpful. Unfirtuantely they couldn't completely miss out service stop due to policy but at least communicated with me effectively, unlike service stop. I was informed my M.O.T had been done at 10am and passed on to them, as well as my contact number. Service stop tried to contact me at 4pm, and only used one of my contact numbers, from which I couldnt answer. In all, terrible service, go straight to the garages, as I will be doing in the future.

Giving one star because zero isn't an option. They're thieves, they will get your car picked and then will mention fine print because yours is diesel/ULEZ car or any BS excuse to rob money off you. They'll have a reason to rip you off. Also they will list down issues that your car has and will ask extortionate amount of money to fix them. Do yourself a favour and don't book them.

Whilst the job I had done via this company went to plan, it was only due to the fact that because of reviews on here I had my car checked out, by a fully fledged mechanic prior to them taking my car who told me what needed doing and what didn't. As many reviews have said they did indeed tryto tell me that more items needed replacing which would cost me in the region of £400 approx which I refused. When he asked why they couldn't do the work I told him that I had the car checked prior to going for service and MOT so I knew exactly what did and did not need doing. With that he muttered a few words and then put the phone down on me. All I can say is if you use this company have your car checked first as they will try and convince you that your car needs work that is not required. The independent garages that they use as far as I know are not part of this upselling practice, and that is probably the reason they do not have access to your phone number and why they are not allowed to contact the customer direct. JUST USE AN INDEPENDENT GARAGE THAT YOU TRUST.

Very poor service. They took my car in the morning and then quoted me £1000 pounds for just a few things and refused to return my car as it failed MOT. They are scamming people . I have been struggling to get in touch through customer service. Never use their service

Awful experience. Held to ransom by company. A £120 service became more than £350 as they added extras we did not want. When we told them we would not pay for something we did not request we were told "we will not release your car until you have paid". Childish and arrogant customer service as they knew they had us over a barrel - criminal behaviour.

As listed in many other reviews, it feels as though this is a business that relies on up-selling at an alarming mark up. Sent my car for a service and MOT, the quoted price for additional work was near £800, even on existing cars I have physically ran into the ground I have never had such a large bill, particularly as I now work from home and use my car very little - wear and tear seems very unlikely. Interestingly after removing all unnecessary work my bill comes to £300 so quite a difference up at a moments notice, but still expensive to just get my car through MOT . It is helpful they pick up and drop off your car, but I’ve found this a poor experience and the business untrustworthy - take it to a garage yourself.

Do not use this company please do not let the 60% off fool you as once you pay online they add more to it so you end up paying alot more than you think. I paid online and they simply did not bother turning up to collect my vehicle so I cancelled the service and they tell you it takes 14 days to transfer the money back into your account!!!! Why 14 days when they expect payment for the service up front. Am still waiting 9 days after I cancelled so this will be very interesting. Please do not use these. SCAM!!!!!!

This company is legit, but is probably bordering on a scam, and we potentially caught them lying. Attractive initial prices draw you in to paying at least a 200% mark up vs other garages. I'm also 90% sure that they lied to me about when work was completed after they sent me an email saying that I had approved work before they even spoke to me. I booked my motorhome in for it's annual service and MOT and found the initial offer attractive. I knew that extra work was needed and that brake pads needed replacing for the MOT. The van was picked up bang on time, initial communication was good. All good. At around 5.40pm I then got a phone call from somebody at service stop. Simultaneously I also received 4 emails. The gentleman on the phone proceeded to list lots of problems - referring to said emails - mainly problems that they were not going to do anything about out of the kindness of their heart. Whilst listening to this extensive list I was trying to read the reports on the emails - which didn't exist when I clicked on them. I then received two further emails which I was told to look at instead of the emails already sent. These contained a quote for repairs that did need doing. I was staggered at a price of £1700. Bewildered by all of the information (I believe that this was a sales tactic) i eventually caved and said 'I guess i'll have to.' Within 1 minute of hanging up I realised that two of the earlier emails I had been led away from said that I had approved work ... this was before i'd even seen the price. I checked the MOT - this had passed despite the fact that I knew the brakes wouldn't, and none of the extra work mentioned was showing on the advisories, and none of the advisories had been mentioned to me. I tried to ring back straight away - turns out they have no mechanism for speaking to them directly. This I believe is another sales tactic. I quickly rang another local garage to ask for their views on the cost and was informed that changing brake pads should cost £100-£130, not the £300 quoted. I rang another garage who said the same. With three separate garages telling me that they would carry out the work for £600-£650, I began trying to contact servicingstop in earnest. The website doesn't display a phone number. The live chat function doesn't get through to a person. I sent multiple emails, used the resolver app to raise a complaint - there was no way through despite 3-4 hours of trying. Next morning at 8am I began again. The phone number i found online simply went to a message telling you to check the FAQ's and use live chat. Live chat went nowhere. Eventually after multiple emails, I got a phone call at 8.45am. The person I spoke to informed me that 1)the work was more expensive because they do it properly and don't cut corners (more labour hours) and that work was almost finished on my van so it was too late. This is where I have my major problem. It seems to me that those two things are mutually exclusive. IF they do jobs properly and therefore need more labour hours which justifies the huge mark up on their prices, then how has work been completed by 8.30am the next day, when they close overnight? If that is true, then either they have overcharged significantly on labour because it didn't take at all long, they had already started work before my permission (remember I received my approval before giving approval, and this could explain passing the MOT despite needing work) or they were lying and work hadn't yet finished (I didn't get my van back until 6pm that day). There are no alternative options to explain this - and I will never know which it was. TO be fair, they did give me a couple of hundred discount - but this still leaves me paying double the going rate. Overall, my experience of this company was poor. They appear legitimate, and technically didn't do anything wrong as I gave my permission over the phone. However, their sales tactics, customer care, and general operation is questionable. I will certainly be avoiding in future.

I have spoken to Gary on multiple occasions, most recently at approximately 5.45pm on 31/05/2023, before I had the opportunity to speak directly with the independent garage and ascertain the actual cost of the works. During our conversation, Gary assured me, "we are just charging you what the garage charges us, I have no reason to lie to you or to try and pull the wool over your eyes." In this case, specifically, Gary has tried to get me to pay for a light bulb replacement at circa £110.00, while the garage has confirmed that they informed your organisation that this item was £25.00. Upon discovering the significant price difference between the independent garage's overall quote for all works of approximately £700.00 and the inflated amount of almost £1,900.00 demanded by Servicing Stop Ltd, it has become apparent that Gary's statement was both underhanded and an outright lie. Such deceptive practices not only breach consumer protection and rights legislation but also undermine trust and confidence in your organisation, as demonstrated by the numerous negative reviews online that refer to Gary in particular, but also your practices as a whole. Furthermore, upon conducting this research on independent review platforms such as Reviews.io and TrustPilot, it is glaringly obvious that Servicing Stop Ltd has a history of employing deceitful and underhanded practices to extract excessive amounts of money from customers. Numerous reviewers consistently mention the addition of unnecessary services, many of which I recognise from my own case with you, falsely claimed to be required for passing the MOT. This recurrent practice, whether mandated by your organisation or carried out by your representatives independently, misleads customers and coerces them into spending more money than necessary. These practices are both ethically questionable and violate consumer protection laws. As a concerned consumer, I am troubled by the fact that Servicing Stop Ltd engages in questionable tactics, which compromise the supposed integrity of the services you claim to provide. The significant increase of over 170% in the charges compared to the prices submitted to you by the independent garage. raises serious concerns about your practices. I insist on an immediate explanation for the vast difference between the prices quoted by the garage and the charges imposed by your organisation. Considering that you already charge the garage a 15% administrative fee and also profit from their services; I find it outrageous that as merely the intermediary between me, the client, and the service provider (the garage), you impose both the 15% admin fee on the garage and over 170% price markup on me. I would argue this is excessive and unjustifiable, especially as I was explicitly told that you only pass on to me the price the garage submits to you. Overall, the level of service provided by Servicing Stop Ltd has been abysmal, exacerbated by the shock of discovering the price markups and questionable practices employed by the company. Failure to address these concerns in a satisfactory manner will leave me with no choice but to proceed with reporting this matter to Trading Standards, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). These regulatory bodies exist to safeguard consumer rights and ensure fair business practices within the UK. I believe that the pricing practices employed by Servicing Stop Ltd, coupled with the deceptive behaviour of your representatives, constitute a violation of these regulations, particularly where I have been misled to take out a credit agreement for a large amount of money which is not reflective of the actual works carried out. I am reaching out to both your local Member of Parliament (MP), Mr. Bambos Charalambous, and mine, Mr. Peter Bone, in order to emphasise my concerns and seek their guidance and support regarding the issues of unethical practices and consumer exploitation.
