Safecontractor have a policy of having a single point of contact. Within our organisation, this creates a regular problem in communication. As a company, we would benefit from having at least two agreed contacts who would receive Safecontractor reminders and requests for e.g. subscription payments and accreditation updates. This would reduce the possibility of not receiving correspondence, such as this year’s 30 day notice for accreditation renewal, or your SafePQQ advice of last year.

Having one point of contact is a functionality hard coded into our system that we acknowledge can cause issues such as the one you have described. Please be assured that amending this is on our Technology roadmap for this year and a feature that we endeavour to improve. Provided documents to 2 requests for the same information by 2 different people, only to have to phone and chase accrediation and have to provide the same information for a third time

On previous years the audit process has been smooth and efficient. Unfortunately that was not the case this time. The requirements had changed and despite having SSIP approved status by BSI under our ISO45001 standard, you expected more information then we had ever given before. Expecting information from us that is beyond the requirements of the Law and even the ISO45001 standard. It begs the question, what are you offering that the SSIP's ISO45001 status give us????

I was not notified of me renewal until the 15th October for me 6/11 expiry. Therefore, I was forced to pay the fast tract fee. I can not help this is a scam to get people to take up this service. I have requested a refund, I have been promised a refund but one is yet to arrive. My certificate last year also was incorrect. Stating it expired on 29 October instead of the 6 November. Causing us issues with some of our contractors.

We release notifications of accreditation expiry 60 and 30 days prior to the expiry date, and are sorry to hear that you did not receive these. We are always looking to improve the service that we provide and have introduced packages that enable contractors requiring accreditation quickly to use an express service that is guaranteed to be completed faster than our standard audit time of 4 weeks. It was a pantomime. there was no clear list regarding what was required and I needed to go through several submissions over a couple of weeks to get this closed out. Many documents were being asked for this time around which were not previously required. After the second or third time of asking, it became apparent that we had been incorrectly assigned the wrong business classification, which was why I was being chased for a load of unnecessary paperwork. After this had been established, it took another few days to convince your staff that this was the case. Considering the amount of money you charge for this service, I expected better and would certainly think it appropriate for you to offer some form of gesture to recompense the costs of my time. FRUSTRATING: The whole process is aimed at contractors. We are Sub Contractors who work under the remit of Main Contractors. This causes issues every time we come to renewal. Our work category "Specialist Sealant Applicators" is not even listed so we have to use the nearest on the list which in turn throws up questions sets that are irrelevant to our works. This makes the whole process difficult and frustrating.

The issue I had was that the system kept on kicking me out and was very slow, it took me numerous attempts to complete the information required and took quite some time...not sure if this was to do with uploading the documents or a glitch in the system. Also it would be really useful, especially if updating throughout the year, to see what documents are out of date at a glance ie: maybe they turn red, rather than having to open everything when maybe not everything needs updating.

I find these renewals aren't a good experience generally, I'm not in the construction business and they don't seem to allow for that, there is an assumption that we know your business

Your auditors asked me for things that the documentation did not, to enable me to pass. Then when the documentation went to the next stage I was asked for even more information. You really do not make it easy for people - it is like needing a crystal ball to complete all the sections as you will be asked for extra documentation but no idea what else.

Over priced, form filling exercise, no actual physical audit, you only have to be good at filling out paperwork. If we didn't need this accreditation for some of our customers, we wouldn't bother.

Poor, had massive problems logging into system. Feel like the whole process is simply a glorified form of legal extortion with no real benefits, especially in terms of protecting people and improving health and safety. It's a service set up to help larger contractors tick boxes and protect backsides.

Takes to long to receive certification - plus once information is sent things that were acceptable in previous years no longer seem acceptable but for no reason.

When completing the assessment certain areas were not applicable, this was consistently ignored by the person reviewing both email and submission notes to the point I had to call to get this completed, waste of time for a portal that if justifiable could improve the flow of the assessment
