“Over bureaucratic - they react to each submission as if it were the first time you had applied, and ask for the same confirmations year after year, instead of looking at your previous year's submission and asking if anything has changed. If you don't want to pay a premium, they will queue your application for a month before they start to ask the stupid questions and then delay it by a further week or two. I'll look at switching next year.”

As part of awarding our UK-leading accreditation annually, our team of expert auditors need to ensure that all contractors have the relevant documentation in place to comply with health and safety legislation, and this does involve re-submission of documentation each time accreditation is awarded. “Acceditation is only inputting on file information, as long as your training and safety records are up to date its reasonably simple. Be prepared for the inevitable questions before the final update. Requirements are not really trade specific, but you need to keep your operatives training and safety awareness up to date.”

“Generally better than it used to be. Still requires considerable duplication of previously supplied information, (which remains unchanged year on year). I DO NOT approve of the tiered system of "The more you pay the quicker we will audit you". It is aimed at prejudicing small business. Large multi-million pound business should not be given preferential treatment because the have more money.”

“Seems to have got a lot slower to be assessed if you are capable of doing it all yourself. However, I see you can pay to have your submission assessed quicker. You can pay for someone to help with it too. Amazing what money can buy.”

“I feel that the renewal of accreditation is too long winded, in my case nothing has changed since last year you require all documentation re sent, as I am not too computer literate it takes time out of my days that I can ill afford”

“We applied for the safeContractor with Alcumus and our experience has been great.
