You took excessively long for a simple business re-accreditation

Thank you for your review, and congratulations on your SafeContractor accreditation. Our standard audit time taken from all documents being submitted it 4 weeks for an auditor to complete your h&s assessment. To make the process faster next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal so that when the questionnaire is released 30 days before expiry you can re-submit your up to date documents quickly. Please accept our apologies for any issues caused by the delay this year. If you have any further queries about how this works then please don't hesitate to get in touch with our team directly.

I have been completing this exercise for more then twelve years - despite being told over the years that you have more assessors, better streamlined systems, fast tracking etc, etc, the actual process takes far too long. Information passed to your administrators, e.g. "I only work on Wednesday", is ignored (received several emails and a phone call outside the given parameters.. Now we input to an administrator who sifts the evidence provided and after a time, contacts us to tell us what additional input is required (the same as before but by an "Administrator", rather than the assessor. If you have not chosen "fast Track", then I now expect the process to take up to 4 months. Not really what I would call reasonable timescales.

Poor communication regarding certification. Perhaps existing and loyal Alcunus customers should not have to pay £149 for a fast track Safecontractor audit!

Too much emphasis on upgrade packages as opposed to carting out the actual audit.

My experience over the past few years has generally been good and far better than the ones I have had with CHAS in the past. However, it is frustrating that every year additional information is requested by yourselves, to questions which have not changed or been added, which had not been requested in the past. Also that answers which have been accepted in the past, for example a brief statement to say the CDM is not relevant to us (the exact wording was in fact supplied to us by a member of your team last year) are not now accepted because the wording was now not quite right for this years standard. This has led each year to us having to have a resubmission. Some consistency would be appreciated and guidance would be useful if additional information is required which was not previously needed. This would likely prevent a large number of the resubmissions you are required to go through and make the process more streamlined for customers.

Thank you for your review, and congratulations on your SafeContractor accreditation. As part of awarding our UK-leading accreditation annually, our team of expert auditors need to ensure that all contractors have the relevant documentation in place to comply with health and safety legislation, and this does involve submitting documentation within specific formats and templates and subsequent re-submission of documentation each time accreditation is awarded, to ensure that all evidence provided adheres to these standards. We will ensure that your feedback regarding consistency is passed on to the technical team for consideration. To make the process easier next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal so that when the questionnaire is released 30 days before expiry you can re-submit your up to date documents quickly. If you have any further queries about how this works then please don't hesitate to get in touch with our team directly.

The process of submitting evidence towards gaining or renewing the accreditation is straightforward. However, during my recertification, I first submitted the required evidence and after a couple of days, I received an email with a list of questions and request for further evidence to be provided. Again, this was fine. I then proceeded to answer the questions and provided the requested info. I then received another email asking for more evidence and to answer more questions. I basically submitted more evidence around 7 times - the issue with this is that I was being asked for different evidence that was not asked for the previous time etc. This process took a fair amount of time in between receiving the email and then re-submitting after gathering the requested evidence. This resulted in our renewal not being granted until around 10 days after our current one had expired. I would like a response to this review/complaint please.

Thank you for leaving us your feedback and congratulations on your accreditation. I have passed your feedback onto our technical team managers who have investigated your case. Your renewal questionnaire was released on the 29th December, and your submission was received on the 13th January. Our Technical Support Officer, Ailsa, began conducting pre-audit on the 15th January, where she needed to confirm company details, work activities etc. Before she could pass your submission on to audit, Ailsa required additional documentation regarding staff training and qualification documentation. This was received 7th February which then meant that your submission was passed through to the audit queue, where auditor Vivian Lott picked up the assessment on the 11th February. Viv required one last item of information and then awarded your accreditation on the 12th February. Please be advised that our standard audit time taken from all documents being submitted is 4 weeks for an auditor to complete your h&s assessment. To make the process faster next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal so that when the questionnaire is released 30 days before expiry you can re-submit your up to date documents quickly. I had a technical issue with downloading the questionnaire which proved to be a problem with using a particular popular browser. However once that was resolved downloading and completing the questionnaire was quite straightforward. I had paid an additional fee for a priority assessment but this was, I thought, delayed by requests for information that was actually presented in other documents, but in a different format, so I felt that these requests were a little spurious. Once I had re-presented the information that I had already given in a further format our questionnaire was then passed for assessment and we passed without further query. I am not sure why we were asked for additional information when I had explained that it had already been provided, and where, but overall the process was pretty straightforward, and it is reassuring to both us as a contractor, and also our current and potential Clients that our commitment to health & safety has been independently assessed and verified.

Really easy to navigate system and the team are helpful too. They want you to achieve it and do well its a positive experience rather than the usual H&S rig-moral that a lot of places put contractors through.

Poor Experience. Asked to pay more to get certified quicker, which we never accept as I do not believe you should be paid to do your job quicker. Advised very latest date we would receive certification - in my experience it is always the last day probably to get you to pay for a better service next time. Doesn't work we are gong to switch our SSIP accreditation to elsewhere. This time around certification was a day after the final date given. No offer to pay me back for the inconvenience though
