Repeats the same sort of questions that ISO45001 and SSiP ask. Just a money grab scheme.

Safecontractor is a member of the SSIP scheme, I can see you that have other SSIP certificates with other providers and we would be happy to discuss a SSIP application with you upon renewal, meaning you would only complete what is necessary due to the fact you have another SSIP certificate. This way you shouldn't feel you are repeating yourself. I was disappointed with the response time to my initial submittal of evidence for this year. My completed documents were sent to you 4 weeks before renewal. Then 3 days before renewal you requested a list of further information, giving me very little time to respond before our present accreditation expired. Furthermore, after I submitted the required additional information you came back for further information which wasn't associated with the first request. If I submit 4 weeks before renewal, surely I can expect a response within 14 days max? I had clients emailing for our Safe Contractor & Safe PQQ renewals. It wasn't until 12 days after the renewal date that I received our updated certificates. Disappointed.

I am sorry to hear that in this instance you felt our service fell short of your expectations. At SafeContractor we do operate a queue system owing to the volume of accounts we have to process. To counter this, we do offer a variety of packages dependant on the needs of our contractors. For example, those who are happy to wait don't need to upgrade, but for businesses where there is urgency the express package is more appropriate. As your business is on the standard package these lead times for accreditation can apply. I will certainly pass this feedback on. As your business is on the standard package these lead times for accreditation can apply. In order to avoid delays in future, please bare in mind that you can complete your questionnaire all year round and then submit 30 days before expiry. Unfortunately as your questionnaire was submitted slightly later than the 30 days this exacerbated your turnaround time. This was our first time getting accredited and there was a lot to do. The team was amazing and very supportive through the process and offered templates and guidance to make things easier to do.

I do wonder if reference is made to previous submissions as I have to explain every year how our elearning platform works and how the training matrix isn't a traditional model - takes a couple of conversations every year for the penny to drop.

We were asked to gain the Alcumus SafeContractor accreditation in addition to our existing SMAS Worksafe accreditation, in order to work with a potential customer. Upon registering, we mentioned that we already had SMAS and were told that we could do a ‘deem-to-satisfy’ so that some of the information held by them could be used in the Alcumus application. We thought this would be perfect due to the quick turnaround we needed in order to carry out the planned work for this particular customer. To ensure this was the case, we also selected the Premier Plan and submitted our applications the day after registration. Unfortunately, despite discounting our plan due to our SMAS accreditation, it seems that the information from the SMAS submission was not transferred over to Alcumus and so we felt that we were doubling up on a lot of the evidence provided to this similar accreditation, under the umbrella of the SSIP organisation. We are not sure if this was an error at our end or Alcumus’ but wonder if the ‘deem-to-satisfy’ mentioned above, could be made clearer/quicker upon registration (from registration to accreditation it took 9 working days instead of the advertised 3 days for the Premier Membership) to speed up the process. Overall we are glad to have achieved the accreditation and the team who made contact with us were pleasant and helpful in their communications.

Having reviewed your account, I can see that the categories used for your CHAS accreditation did not match the ones selected for SafeContractor, as such we are then unable to follow the deem to satisfy route. This should have been made clear to you at the time, so many apologies if this was not the case. I will be sure to pass this back to our Audit Mangers. I am pleased to hear that the team were pleasant and helpful throughout the process however. The process in general is fine but I was disappointed to have to wait so long to get my application assessed- I hit the submit button at the earliest opportunity as per the guidance giving ample time for the review within the 20 working days suggested before my existing cert ran out- Unfortunately I had to chase several times once the 20 days surpassed and was nearer 30 days before I received confirmation by which point my cert had expired and I was getting daily email prompts from Clients to upload a new cert. If the terms noted cannot be honoured I suggest that the submission date should be earlier to allow the review to be completed before certs expire.

There were delays in getting it assessed this maybe due to staffing. My Health and Safety part was assessed but my Environmental section I still haven't heard anything back on.
