About Rohan:

Rohan is a much loved and iconic British travel and outdoor clothing brand with a heritage spanning more than four decades. Established by two outdoor enthusiasts in North Yorkshire in 1972, Rohan set out to challenge the status quo. With five founding principles that clothing should always be protective, lightweight, packable, versatile and easy-care, Rohan radically re-thought the way people dressed for the outdoors.

I love Rohan, from my first pair of bags to travel trousers. But they have lost their way a bit. The fits they use are for skinny beanpoles, so when I recently ordered a pair of District Chinos I was expecting a fairly relaxed fit in the leg, instead despite ordering a 40" waist I got something that more nearly resembles jeggings than trouser. I understand the fashion today is tighter equals better, but its chinos! I didnt want something resembleing Navy bellbottoms but a little bit of room in the trouser can't be too much to ask for?

As I get older, my circumference has increased. I only fit in a few 42inch trousers nowadays. Most of the non-fitting 42 trouser types are too tight around my thighs. Winter lining Rohan clothes are regularly undersized too-tight clothes. Why on earth are 44 and 46 inch bags not made of the stretchy material. I love stretchy. I never really liked bags though - too many pockets leads to too much time taken finding and getting things. And I like high back trousers that don't give my friends and family a glimpse of my crack. I think the world, in general, would thank me for that.

We have been buying Rohan clothes for the last 30 years after they were recommended by a guide on our exploration of the Alps. He told us that his Rohan shirt had been washed in mountain streams for a couple of years and dried overnight even though it still looked pristine. Since then we have travelled the world wearing Rohan clothes. For some reason or other you have started using inferior zips on your clothing. The zip on this purchase is very poor, as was the zip on my husband's winter coat which he bought in 2022. We love the quality and functionality of your clothes but the zips are making us think twice about further purchases. What a pity!!!!!

The first purchase arrived with a very stiff clasp that didn't open very well. One glove had a seam that was undone. I had to contact customer services several times and had to return them and then wait for a replacement pair. Quality control was slack. And I had interesting responses to my complaint. It could have been improved by a more prompt action ie a replacement pair sent straight away. No recompense for the inconvenience and a week's wait in cold weather not what I'd expect from this company my pair was part of a faulty batch. Thank you for the replacements. I

I find the sizing inconsistent. I have a 10 in some trouser styles and a 12 in others which makes buying them on line very frustrating!

I am normally quite pleased with all aspects of Rohan's service but the last trousers I bought were 8R when I had ordered 8L which is always my size. They landed just above my ankle which is not the look I wanted. I would have liked to exchange them but went for a refund as it seemed the most straightforward thing to do. It was disappointing and put me off trying Rhoham again.

Good products but variable sizing.

I'm normally very happy with Rohan's clothes but this time they have let me down by changing the sizing. I have purchased 5 or 6 pairs of trousers of different types in size 8 over the past few years. All fitted and continue to fit (although there was one style which I tried on in the shop and didn't buy). But I've had to return the Winter Roamers I bought in the mid-season sale because they were too big, even though I've happily bought the ordinary Roamers before. It's such a shame the Brighton shop has closed so I have 7j8to use mail order.

Products good as always but delivery awful - took 4 attempts and in the house each time!

Great wallet but inherent design fault with a weakness where the elastic meets the velcro on the fastening tab. Has frayed and ice had to Safety pin it

Had reason to visit Nottingham branch to exchange goods because the online means of obtaining a return label wasn't working Branch service was excellent and its a pity Milton Keynes HQ don't offer similar support. Product sold is generally very good if somewhat drab, but established designs are often changed to save just a few Chinese yuan - generally to their detriment - and HQ non response to the many reviews published is not what one would associate with a Company that has a effective customer interest policy and/or wishing to maintain market share in this market sector.

I have purchased Rohan clothes for many years and the majority of them have lasted me many years of good service which is why I have paid their prices. My latest purchases are disappointing, they are incredibly light and don't feel like the quality I'm used to. I am going elsewhere in future.

Great fabric but I’d hoped for something slimmer/more fitted. Bit grumpy which is disappointing.

I received notification that the parcel had been delivered but I had not received it and the courier's confirmatory notification showed a picture of a front door to an unknown house. I contacted Rohan customer service by email explaining this. I then phoned the courier who said they would check with the delivery person and ensure the parcel arrived the same day. I have heard nothing at all from Rohan CS so no stars. The parcel did arrive early evening the same day so five stars. Overall three stars.

The product is very good as per usual but unfortunately a member of staff at your Oxford office is not. I was not notified of the product arriving at the shop and when I dared to inquire the lady was rude. This is not the first time .

Over many years I have happily purchased many outdoor items from yourselves. This Pioneer sale shirt is very smart and lightweight. I tried this on in shop (click & collect) and found I could not undo buttons easily. I ended up pulling my new shirt on over my head, rather than fully opened. I did struggle to button up! When mentioning this to the Manager she indicated that the button holes had been reduced since earlier customers said button holes too large and buttons 'popped' out. She suggested stretching holes by inserting Bic biro with top on- seemed to do the trick in the shop. First time on at home found I need my wife to assist with button above wrist /lower arm - one hand operation, I could not manage. Suggest your manufacturer still requires to get your specifications more accurately. This shirt has not yet been washed but do not see this as the answer. It's all about getting value for money.

I find it difficult to write this review. I first visited a Rohan shop in the '70s whilst holidaying in the Dales with my wife and young family. This was the original and only at that time, in Long Preston, when Paul and Sarah Howcroft were there and physically in the shop and serving us. I bought a pair of Bags, a classic style that's remained almost unchanged over those fifty years. However, it's sad that my skin has become increasingly intolerant of synthetic fabrics over the intervening years and I can't wear most of your products: my wife still can however. But a gripe that we both have is that even the classic styles keep on getting frequently 'tweaked' - for example the fit of the legs of Bags sometimes narrower and then wider. Buy a pair that are just fine then a couple of years later when you need another pair that fit has been changed and what you bought no longer available. What has occasioned this outburst? It's the Bags cap bought recently. I previously had three Outrider caps, another potential classic, in dark grey, light grey and stone. The crown shape was more roomy, unlike the ubiquitous close-fitting baseball cap style, and the peak foldable. I lost the stone-coloured one not long ago and wanted to buy a replacement. No longer available, so I bought the Bags cap instead which I'm really not that keen on. Unisex - I don't have a pony tail, there is only a two-position headband fit adjustment, it seems a closer fit to the crown and the peak is not foldable. There is only one remedy for the ever-changing dictates of fashion - when you've just bought something you really like, go back the following week and buy another. Apologies for the rant. I feel I've done Rohan an injustice but for most customers, current and potential, Rohan "does the business", but please do think about retaining those handful of classic styles and try not to tweak them too often. (Concerning the question about delivery below, it was delivered to the local shop in Chelmsford and I collected it from there.)

Have been buying Rohan clothes for 15 years or more. For wearability and ease and speed of washing and drying when on holiday they are fantastic BUT I have become increasingly disappointed with the way the sizing has changed particularly of the trousers. I have always been a size 8. My 15 year old size 8s fit well. My more recent purchases are bigger and can only be worn with a belt and long top. Sadly I will not be buying any more trousers unless you introduce size 6 to your range.
