“DO NOT USE!! It is easy to skim over this part of Exclusion #1 in their policy brochure: "...Conditions for which you have received treatment, had symptoms of, had knowledge existed or should have known existed, or you sought advice for or existed without your knowledge prior to your date of entry (preexisting medical condition) will not be covered." ... OR EXISTED WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE In other words, if you find you have cancer (which probably develops over several years) then they won't pay out as it is deemed an UNKNOWN pre-existing condition. This is exactly what happened to me and I was left to personally find tens of thousands in hospital and surgery fees.”

“Great on small claims. A few hundred and they will pay quickly. But once you are talking thousands they will do NOTHING except make excuses and pay nothing. The small print excludes so much and is worded so cleverly to make sure they are exempt from paying. They left my family stranded abroad with not a penny paid after a car accident which was not their fault. They have not paid a PENNY towards their care and made excuses at every turn. They have had thousands from us in premiums and when we needed them they were not there for us. This company is basically a SCAM. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.”

“They only cover small claims ($200 to $500), but if you have a larger claim ($2,000 or more), they will do everything in their power to NOT pay out, even after giving you the runaround! Since they are a NEVIS company, you have no legal recourse if you ask them to reimburse your premiums; they simply refuse! Pure scammers and rip-offs!”

“One year on and it is obvious you have no intension of paying out on my son's claim. He is left with a profound stroke, including little eyesight and paralysis. He is left with a huge medical bill, hasn't worked since his stroke, unable to work. He will lose his home and Regency do not care. They only want your money. Do not use this company.”

“Five stars for marketing but, quite frankly, they just left me high and dry. Buried us in completely unnecessary paperwork in order to get approved for treatment at a medical facility in Bali. Totally wasted our time, money and everyone else's too - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.”

“This health insurance company is NOT to trusted , they want your money but when it comes to claiming especially if you are over 55 years old. They will think of every excuse to get out of paying your claims. I got my policy and one month later I broke my arm and with this the hospital did X-rays of chest area as when I fell over I had hurt that part of my body also . The hospital discovered a mass on my lung. After further investigation it was diagnosed that I had lung cancer. Before I broke my arm I felt fine and had No Idea of having Stage 3 lung cancer. When it came to claiming for this and all the investigations leading up to the stage of going to have Chemotherapy, they wouldn’t cover anything and wouldn’t cover my Radiation/ Chemo treatment either. They No Sympathy nor Empathy for my terminal illness. As I am not a rich person I need to survive and they issued me with a Death Sentence. I asked for refund on my policy to which they totally refused. A few months later I woke up with a very sore back I put up with it for a week but it wasn’t getting better. I had an MRI which the diagnosis was a cyst on lower part of my spine. The surgeon gave my cortisone injections into my spine as I was in so much pain I was unable to walk. I put in my claim for this and again they refused to pay me for my claim. This time I was furious . This company are simply just Corporate bloody Thieves. I’m nearly 60 and I have been forced to retire and I am not rich , hence the reason I took out health insurance coverage. Now I have not been Covered for anything and have paid quite a good deal of money for a Policy that means nothing. This company are a joke, an absolute disgrace, Don’t trust this company they are rude , unsympathetic with No Compassion. Absolutely a pack of Low Dogs.”

“I had/have an infection, then amputation and they won't pay a thing. They said it was pre-existing and wrong hospital. I purchased the insurance 6 months before the infection.”

“Please stay away of Regency for Expats. THEY SIMPLY DON'T PAY. Client Service really a low level. Got calls by un UK number (+44) where they pretend to have an office by people based in Thailand, HONK KONG, the Caribbean Sea and who knows from where. I specified to call me during my working time zone many times (phone and email) but got calls at 4am or 10pm my time. Every time a new person to deal with via email of phone giving you then just polite and nonsense answers with nobody taking responsibility of decisions. Then you start the endless story of requesting medical certifications and nonsense documentation. When asked to have the legal entity to send them letters by my layer never got a reply. Basically I got a claim denial for a gallstone operation. I discovered to have the problems due to some really high pain. Went then to the doctor and did the ultrasound and found the gallstone in my cistifellea. Asked to 2 clinics in Italy 2 different prices for operation. Sent all documents to the claiming team and got denial. They argue it was a previous problem before the insurance policy. If this is the logic any cancer or even a basic teeth cavity will be denied. They even didn't reimburse the initial visits and exams I took to get through the diagnosis.”

“Despite contacting them before I read the reviews and had a narrow escape, I receive numerous calls in a week, which I now ignore. If you want insurance, use a known and reliable company!”

“I am at present fighting for authorization for a hip op in Indonesia. Since 2 weeks there are mails going up and down, but all I get is “comforting me". I am 74 years old and so far healthy. Unfortunately my hips got very bad the past 2 years and a specialist recommended double hip op. My annual fee to Regency was USD 10.384.00, which would cover the cost. I remember when I signed up with Regency in 2020, my brother warned me. How right he was. They ask for detailed Medical reports for the last 5 years. I cannot provide any, as I am so far healthy and for a flue or a tooth ake you do not need a medical report. Do you?! 2015 I had an accident and broke my shoulder. The insurance I had, immediately gave the green light to operate. This took 5 minutes over the phone. This is what an insurance should be like. Unfortunately they were not allowed to operate in Indonesia any more. Other wise I would be safe now!!!! I do not believe any of the positive comments, they are all lies. How come there are only 5 star or 1 star comments?!?! The only true comments are the 1 star comments. Regency keep your promise and pay for my surgery. Or cancel my contract and refund my 10.384.00 USD. But this will not happen, you are a fraudulent company stealing the money from expats all over the world. I believe in KARMA, this will come back to you one day. Dear expats, do never ever sign up with Regency!”

“Glad I checked the reviews !! I asked the telephone agent "Is this another ins. Co. where I need to show up for hospital care with a shoe box of $$$$ bills and you will 'HELP ME GET MY MONEY BACK' his reply " No, just show your Regency card and you are admitted with no charges to you" That is NOT INSURANCE that is a SCAM. Bu-Bye Regency TOO MANY BAD REVIEWS!!”

“I am looking for insurance. I read all their ways to not pay. Lawyers did a good job. In the pdf I saw nothing that said you pay this and get this. It was all about protecting them. Red flag one. Reading the 5 star reviews, I am sure they are fake. They all sound the same vs the pain in the words of those who were not cared for. There is a 5% chance I would go with this company. I called the 2 Bangkok phone numbers. 21054284 / 5, I also put 66 in front of the numbers. I called from my Thai phone. "This phone number does not exist". Wow. Researching others.”

“This is the worst insurance company ever. Their behavior is predatory and they will take your money and when you file a claim, they will deny you on the pretext that they require past medical records that usually are impossible to provide. They are a bunch or highway robbers!!! Stay away for this company.”
