“In my opinion it was not worth the few hundred pounds saved on using a local firm. The were incredibly reactive rather than proactive, taking a long time to deal with what should have been a very simple transaction. They were dreadful at returning calls, and then a couple of weeks before exchanging contracts they handed over our file to a completely new person due to a 'restructure.' Perhaps one of the reasons they are so cheap is that they do not send a hard copy of anything - all documents are emailed and anything that requires signing and returning needs to be printed by the client. I think the quote was approximately £300 cheaper than the local conveyancer used on our last move but in hindsight I should have paid the extra for the quality of service.”

We do try to maintain a good selection of local and national firms to provide quotes, so there should have been a locally based company quoting - sorry if this was not the case for you.

“We were very pleased with the service we had from Crown when they moved us from Exeter to Bristol. David and his colleagues were polite and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They worked quickly but carefully and always asked whereabouts to put things in our new house if they were unsure. The price was competitive and we are glad that we chose to use them.”

“Thanks to RMNJ, my first time buying experience was stress free, quick and efficient. Since the very beginning, I was provided direct contact details for my solicitor along with their assistant. Even though I bought my property at the peak of the holiday season (both my solicitors were on holiday, albeit not at the same time), all of my queries were answered timely and I was never left hanging to an email response. I was always able to speak with someone whenever I called and follow ups/responses were prompt and same day. Shirley English and Amy Hulse were both extremely patient, co-operative and understanding throughout the transaction. I valued their professional approach to all matters and respected their business acumen. All in all, I had a great experience with RMNJ and would HIGHLY recommend them to any FTB without the slightest hesitation. Bottom line? RMNJ is cost effective, professional and will ensure you do not have sleepless nights.”

Thank you for your comments. All partners are proactively vetted before we allow them to join our panel, and we continue to monitor them through their time with us. We have sent over your feedback to the conveyancer to see if we can resolve the issue.

“I live part of the year in Spain so really needed a solicitor who understood that technology was important to me. reallymoving.com very quickly sent me the names of several companies. I compared prices for each company with local solicitors in my home town. Most of them compared favourably. The company I chose set out their price very clearly and there were no added extras on my final bill. My only complaint about the company chosen is that I had to keep reminding them that I needed an email copy of every letter and that all communication should be by email or phone – I had to keep emphasising that they were chosen from the internet because I expected them to be up to date with technology. The fact that, on several occasions, they forgot to send an email copy caused frustrating delays. This was not a fault of reallymoving.com but perhaps they could emphasise the point to those companies they recommend.”
