“The removal company sub-contracted the job to some cowboys who damaged a number of items of my furniture and took zero care of my property during the job. I regret using this service.”

Thanks Burak. The companies we work with are not allowed to sub-contract their removals jobs and sign an agreement with us to this effect. We are therefore investigating this immediately and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We are extremely sorry that you did not get the usual excellent service that our removals firms provide.

“I was so disappointed. The guys seemed great but they over charged my husband from the agreed price, as I wasn't there I couldnt correct or show my invoice (I had it to double check the price before they started, my husband was waiting 200 miles away) I was told I would be charged an extra £50 for my wardrobes (5doors) which I agreed, but they charged my husband £60 - they didn't even fit the wardrobe doors back on, I know this wasn't their fault but to charge my husband extra for the job being incomplete I thought was disgusting - will not be using again. Such a small thing I know but it's the principles of the company I think, if they can do that what else can they do?”

“Only got a couple of online responses, the rest was a lot of mail shots for weeks after making the enquiry, including people thanking us for using their service when we hadn't booked them. Very annoying, but fine if you have a child who likes shiny glossy leaflets to chew on.”

“I do not trust the reviews on reallymoving.com's website of conveyancers etc. The reviews for the company I used were all very positive, but elsewhere on the internet they have the absolute lowest reviews you can possibly imagine, which is very confusing. I am concerned that they may filter the reviews that get shown on their website, as I do not see how such a bad company, with such terrible reviews on every other website, could get such good reviews on reallymoving.com”

Dear Laura Thanks for your honest review. The conveyancing firm in question does have a mixed bag of reviews on our system which date back to early 2014 when they had some staffing issues. If you scroll down on the reviews we host, you'll see them. They've subsequently improved systems and staff training, which is why the more recent reviews are much more positive. We can see from your registration -12 months ago in April 2014 - that you were unfortunately caught up in this difficult situation for them.

“I used reallymoving.com to find a conveyancing solicitor. I got quotes and picked the one which came most highly recommended. However, my experience of the solicitor has been absolutely terrible - totally different to the reviews highlighted. This leads me to question the reliability of reallymoving.com. I might have just been unfortunate, but such a difference makes me suspicious!”

This is most unusual for our conveyancing panel and we are in talks with the firm concerned to see what the delay was. As you says, from previous reviews they are normally extremely proficient and receive good reviews. Our apologies that you have not had a good experience - we were very sorry to hear this.

“The concept is good, but needs to be more realistic about the quotes it gives for the companies it represents. Our quote for removals was less than half of what it actually cost.”

“In my opinion it was not worth the few hundred pounds saved on using a local firm. The were incredibly reactive rather than proactive, taking a long time to deal with what should have been a very simple transaction. They were dreadful at returning calls, and then a couple of weeks before exchanging contracts they handed over our file to a completely new person due to a 'restructure.' Perhaps one of the reasons they are so cheap is that they do not send a hard copy of anything - all documents are emailed and anything that requires signing and returning needs to be printed by the client. I think the quote was approximately £300 cheaper than the local conveyancer used on our last move but in hindsight I should have paid the extra for the quality of service.”

We do try to maintain a good selection of local and national firms to provide quotes, so there should have been a locally based company quoting - sorry if this was not the case for you.
