“Although Gary, the trainer was a nice guy, he often moved away from the subject at hand, was critical of the IOSH course content and over applied too much time to accident investigation and risk assessments, but skipped over the rest of the training with too little detail. If I had to have paid for this course out of my own money, I would have been extremely disappointed and would not have felt I had `got my money's worth'.”

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we really appreciate any comments on our training as they all help us to constantly improve our quality. I've passed this to our training manager for further investigation. We believe the IOSH course to be hugely beneficial and all our trainers regularly champion the IOSH course for its ability to deliver content in a relaxed way, with group discussions and not just 'death by powerpoint'. Risk assessment and accident investigation is a large part of the course, and often one of the main benefits of attending the IOSH course is that delegates can immediately apply knowledge to their workplace and complete risk assessments. So it's important delegates understand completely. We do encourage trainers to mould the course to suit delegates and spend time on subjects according to delegates' ability and existing knowledge. We will be looking into the timetable of the course to make sure everything is sufficiently covered. “I got 25 out of 25 in the 'quiz' so I'd say badger did all he could have done to inform me properly of all the material within the course.”

“Good tuition I have been on many safety courses and inductions and they can be tedious and monotone, but this was totally different lighthearted and involving making it easier to take on board”

“Made Health and Safety interesting! Also was made to feel very welcome and enjoyed Badgers presenting style and fun, no nonsense approach which kept me engaged throughout. Looking forward to applying and sharing my new found knowledge in my workplace.”

“It was ok - not great and actually quite disappointing. I felt that going through the course book by myself would have been more successful and a better use of my time than doing this 3 day course”

Sorry to hear you found the course quite disappointing, we run hundreds of Managing Safely courses every year and we try to make every course applicable and useful to all delegates that attend. If it's ok with you I'm going to ask my colleague to follow up and get some specifics so we can make some improvements for future courses.

“I thought the course was good and location of the course was perfect for me. However a few things I think that could really be improved. At the Limehouse Holiday Inn, the lighting in the room is terrible! No where near bright enough for a day’s course, a lot of people including the trainer started feeling eye strain and headaches due to the low lighting. The instructor was very nice, but I feel he went off the modules a little bit too much. The course I enjoyed, however I feel it could do with being updated a bit.”

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback Lawrence; it really helps us to make improvements to our courses. I've spoken with our venue manager and she's going to review the room at Limehouse with the staff there and see if there's anything we can do to improve the lighting. The course and content are produced by IOSH although our trainers do try to add a personal touch and cover content and questions for all the delegates. I'll speak with the trainer for your course and see if there's anything we can do to stay on topic in future. Thanks again for your feedback.
