“Having had our solicitor question the plan submitted by the vendor of the property we are buying in that it did not comply with Land registry requirements, I thought it would be a long winded exercise to find any plans for the property until I found the Buy A Plan web site. Within minutes I found an excellently detailed plan of the property which clearly defined the boundaries which required some confirmation by our solicitor. Purchasing and downloading the plan was simple and quick. I have passed on the details of Buy A Plan to the vendors agents in order for them to also purchase the plan and enable quick close out of the questions asked and to progress the sale/purchase of the property.”

“I needed a plan for submission to Land Registry. The plan facility is very good but suffers from some simple and obvious shortcomings: 1) The North direction indication should be larger and clearer. 2) The scale is so small it is virtually unreadable. Surely this must be a frequently complained about issue. Why not put this beneath the plan so that it is more visible? 3) There should be scope to enlarge the area covered slightly. For example, if a plot of land does is not full enclosed by the scale 1:500 one has to go to 1:1250 when all would be required is to increase the area display by say 5% at the 1:500 scale. There is plenty of spare space on the A4 page to do this. Because of these limitations I am not sure whether the plan I have selected will be accepted by Land Registry. However, it has cost me £15.60 to see whether or not it will be. A little more finesse and a little more appreciation of what the end-user actually requires could turn this from good to excellent.”

Dear Joyce Thanks for the feedback. The plans are to scale when printed on A4 and if we showed the whole page as a map the price would be many times more. For most purposes that size map is sufficient e.g. for planning applications. We do however sell A4 maps via our professional site www.mapserve.co.u. Hope that helps.
